accepted Emory students fall 2009

I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.

I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.

I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.

How long does it take to do the drug test? Would i be able to get it done on a Lunch Break from work?

It took me about 30 mins maximum but maybe it was because because there was only four other people there waiting. I went to the one at buckhead but they charge for parking $3.

Was that including wait time? Do you have a lot paper work to fill out? Is that why it took that long?

No Trish, not a lot of paper work and includes parking and wait time etc. Has any of you checked your emory mail? Overwhelming but exciting!

Hey everybody! Less than a week to go!!! What's everybody up to? I'm still trying to finish up the med math stuff and I just got an iPhone yesterday and I'm trying to figure out how to use it. Odooma I did see all the emails yesterday. I'm still can't believe orientation is next week!

I finished med math yesterday yay! However, I am kinda confused with the NCLEX part so I am going to be calling them to find out if we are supposed to do that. That would be cruel.

I'm working on my medmath and wondered if you all took both module tests or just one for each module? I've just been doing one because I assumed it covered the same material ... Let me know!

I only took 1 test as well. I figured both tests would just be testing the same material, so I only felt 1 was sufficient.

Hey all! I wrote on this post a while ago and have not been back since :) I'm a student at emory but will be back next week to re-take the pharmacology class. I was a full time student last fall but didnt pass. So bummer for me I basically have to start all over again! I was wondering what time the orientation was tomorrow (tuesday 25th)?

Even though I went through it last year since I have to start again I thought it may be good to go and meet some of the peeps I will be with for the next few years :) get back to me if you can! (dont be nervous about tomorrow...its fun!)
