I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.
I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.
I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.
Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.
Really appreciated.
Nah, I think it is a good idea. It would alleviate you feeling like an outsider when you start full time in the Spring. Plus, you know what is going on the first day of orientation. The rest of us will be crazy confused because we don't have a clue what is going on tomorrow. I believe you when you say it will be fun. I am so excited, I am sure I won't be sleeping well tonight.
Hey y'all! When I began this thread I wasn't quite sure if I would get any reponses but it's been amazing and I am glad we all seem to have received various information from one another that has been helpful. I am looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. I will be the cute black girl with curly hair in a polka dots dress LOL. Please let's find one another tomorrow so we can continue our "click". It's been an amazing summer!
haha ok PLEASE dont take this as "bad advice" or like I'm a "bad student" but last year when our class was promted to do all the summer assignments etc....by orientation I hadnt taken the A&P test. But I was told that it was just a review exam and not something that was to be graded etc. So I never ended up taking it. What I was told last year at orientation was that the A&P test was to give us an idea of where we were with our anatomy and phys knowledge.
BUT I am not sure if they are taking a different route this year. Just my two cents
see y'all tomorrow!
hey y'all! I went but showed up a little late around 9am. Right when everyone was getting into their mentor groups so I figured it should just leave :) haha but at least I got a cup of coffee! haha oh and in the old "medical bookstore" (which is now a clearance store I guess) has scrubs on sale for 3 bucks. I got some good ones! only random sizes left though.
Feel free to facebook me...search Jessica Milbury
have fun tomorrow!
Emory Nursing Students!!!!
Hey everyone,
I have applied to the NHWSoN begining Fall 2010. I submited my application packet the first week of September. I am already CrAzY with anxiety. When did you folks here that you were accepted. How soon after you applied?
I met with an advisor last month and she said I should have no problem getting in. I am an Emory employee. I have been a Nurse Tech for ten years (not all at Emory). The 3 letters of recommendation were from: my A&P teacher, another teacher of health sciences, and my boss who is MSN, RN, FNP-C.
I have always wanted to be an Emory Nurse!!!!! Hopefully my dream will come true soon!!!!
Please let me know when you applied to the program and when you got your accpt. letter........jasonwalkeratl
