I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.
I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.
I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.
Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.
Really appreciated.
Oh ok, thanks! It is a long process indeed. I started yesterday and only just finished the module test this evening - basic math so I will continue tomorrow and try and get at least 2 modules a day if I can. Has anyone else finished the A & P test? I know someone said you can do it at the orientation but can you do it now if you want to?
Hi Odooma, I'm moving into Gables Lenox Hills next week! Whoo-hoo! As far as the Med Math, I agree with Erin in saying that taking all of the quizzes really does help to take the Module Tests. My question is do we have to take both Module Tests for each module or just one? As far as the A&P Test, I'm not going to do it until they tell us to.
Oooh, I didn't even think of just taking one test. I took them both for each module. I was wondering if we have to take all the NCLEX tests at the end. And, are people taking the tests until they get a 100%? I did not. If I got a 90% or better, I didn't worry about it. Did everyone know that you can take the tests until you get a good grade? I figured this out late in the game (about module 8 of 12).
I am moving into the Clifton Apartments on Briarclifff next weekend. I am so excited!! 15 days until orientation everyone! I have been counting down all summer. I am starting to get a little nervous now. I am sure we all will do great! I really have been glad to have this forum to help throughout the pre-enrollment process. I can't wait to meet everyone in person! We need to wear some sort of "forum-user ID" like a sticker or something. :)
Odooma, your apartments are right down the street from mine! We will probably be riding the Cliff together, right? Or are you getting a parking pass?

Hey you guys! I just though I would let everyone know that I've finally moved here to Atlanta and I'm pretty much settled into my new place. I went and got my uniforms the other day and the ladies there are SO nice and helpful. They even have some tops already embroidered with the patch so you don't have to wait 2 weeks for it to be done. So has anybody done their drug test yet? I think I'm gonna go do that tomorrow. Then I think I'll finally be done with all the pre-enrollment stuff! :)
Welcome to Atlanta LaBrittany. I just did my drug test on Friday and still doing my med math stuff. It is a long process buy I am hoping to finish all this week and then I will be done with the pre-enrollment stuff too.
I think what we can also do is either put our first names under our post maybe a few days before orientation or start PM one another, or facebooking or something so that we can at least be familiar with one another before orientation.

You start out as a jr in the program...you have to have all your pre-req's done before you start the nursing program. I got my AS before going to Emory.
