Acceptance Letters? MGH Direct-Entry Master's in Nursing

Published

Hello!

Does anyone know when acceptance letters will be mailed out for the MGH d-e master's in nursing program? I know it's only been 3 weeks since the January 10th deadline, but I'm sure I'm not the only one biting my nails in the interim. :) I've looked through a few similar threads from a few years ago-- most students seemed to receive letters in early March, but who knows whether their program deadlines were the same. Thought I'd ask the question to get some discussion going. Hope all of us hear back soon! Good luck, everyone!

So if i haven't gotten a letter or an email from MGH yet, does that mean i didnt get in or i still have a shot? I also havent heard from Northeastern yet and when i emailed their admission office i got a very attitude-filled response. Im gettin very nervous that i didnt get into either because i havent heard!

Hi Becca-

for Northeastern, try logging on to your application online. I never received an email or a letter by logged in to mine on a whim and saw that I was waitlisted. It was posted on the 21st so it's hard to tell---if I never looked I would have never known the decision was there...good luck!

Thanks Choco80, i did email both admissions offices and MGH said they should be getting back to me this coming week but it seemed like a lot of other peole had heard.

PsychLisa, I looked today after reading your post, whereabouts did you find that info on the site? in the messages?

I also don't have anything posted in my Northeastern online app - unless it is somewhere hidden? I would think it would be somewhere obvious though, right?

if it's posted it would be right when you log in on the bottom of the page. for example, when you log in you see a page with a checklist of all things complete, your recommenders, etc. if there's a decision posted there will be a link that says "decision status" at the bottom of the page.

Btw, I did receive my formal acceptance to MGH in the mail, and it also did not mention the admitted students day that was referenced in the email. It also did not include a cori form that was referenced in the letter and was listed as an enclosed at the bottom of the letter, so they may have sent these out quickly and forgotten to include a few things. I'm willing to bet we'll receive something supplemental shortly...

Becca,

It seems to me that MGH admissions office has not completed sent out their decisions via mail/email. I was just like you last week- really nervous after having nothing from MGH by Friday. I called and emailed admissions office and they said they did not know anything about emailing stuffs, but mails were sent out last week. I then contacted nursing school and knew that i was accepted. I have not received official acceptance letter yet, but i feel relieved.

Fingers crossed for you.

It's so late in the game for MGH letters! Going into this, I thought MGH was my first choice, but I've already packed up and am heading to Worcester for the UMass program (received a decision in Feb!). It's insane to assume applicants are going to turn down other opportunities for a CHANCE of getting into their program. I'm feeling pretty good about the decision and certainly hope my spot opens up something for a waitlisted person. It seems like there's a lot to be determined at this point, so keep your hopes up if you haven't head anything yet. BTW, I have not heard a decision from Simmons, but I am obviously on their spam list because they keep sending me emails to sign up for prerequs through Simmons ($1000 for the same class I'm currently taking for $300 at BHCC). Seriously!??

Good luck to everyone - I hope you get into your programs of choice. Westward ho! ;-)

I have to complete Human Nutrition (for preqs) this summer. Does anyone know where to take the course online other than MGH IHP? Thanks a lot.

Httleeds-I'm taking Human Nutrition at Massasoit, they offer in person, online and hybrid courses (half online/half in person).

Thank you so much HugANurse87. I'll check on it.

You're welcome!

I'm going to take it at Bunker Hill Community College - a lot cheaper!
