acceptance to accelerated programs in ON

World Canada CA Programs

Hi!

I was just wondering if anyone else was waiting around to find out whether or not they got into an accelerated nursing program in ON? Where did you apply and when do people generally hear back from admissions?

Who did you talk to? I called admissions 2-3 weeks ago and they said they haven't sent any acceptances out yet and don't plan to until May. I'm starting to worry now...

I contacted someone in the nursing department and asked about the 2nd entry program specifically. Did you call the general admissions office? I'm so worried and confused!!! :(

I haven't heard back either! The wait is so long!

Do you guys minds sharing your gpa etc etc.

Does anyone know what the cut off for York will be around this year.

Not sure what the cutoff will be, but personally I have a B+ in final year, B cumulative. Not sure if that's competitive enough... I keep hearing different things :S

for york's 2nd entry, does anyone know if they'll take into consideration winter semester's marks? my last exam's on April 30th =s

They will consider winter marks. It will be counted in your last 5.0 courses.

My exams are done may 28th.

I have a B+ in my final year and hopefully a B cumulative.

I am dying to hear from them and very worried. I don't want to go to Trent.

Anyone else applied to Trent? That is my 2nd option.

@jbethune, i just got my acceptance to U of T today!!!!! Who would have thought?! I'm still in disbelief.

Thank you! I'm extremely surprised because I don't have my degree yet, but here are my stats:

GPA in last 5 FCE's- 3.9 ;

Volunteering: Mentor for High School Students, Rape Crisis Counselor, Feeder / Activity Volunteer at a Retirement Home, Math Tutor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel.. etc.

I think what might have saved me is that I submitted extra references, and that I attended the CNSA Conference at U of T in October (I was briefly at Ryerson for nursing, before ultimately deciding to drop out for the year to straighten out some personal issues.) Other than that, I honestly didn't think I'd have a shot..since I heard not many, if any, non-degree holders get in.

how far along were you in your degree and what were you studying? that probably had something to do with it.

I had 3 years done..think that made a difference?

Yaaaay! You just gave me hope!! I've only done two years, but if I can even just make it on the waiting list, I'll be happy! Congrats!
