ABSN CSULA Summer 2018

I wanted to start a topic about ABSN program at CSULA for Summer 2018 and get some feedback about applying, stats, and more. I am looking to apply here and to other similar programs and I wanted feedback about your experiences.

For those who have been invited to interview and have gotten the application information...has anyone actually been able to apply? The instructions have led me to a dead end. I can create an account but I can't apply. Ahhhhh!

Got an interview invite this past week. Submitted my app back in November and actually never received an app confirmation email after waiting over 3mos. Had to ping KH to check on the status of my app. Apparently the school never received one of my transcripts. If any of the folks have been waiting for an app confirmation email for a while now, I would suggest pinging KH for an update (she responds super quick!) but be cognizant of the fact that they are running on super limited manpower on this app process.

Anyway, for those who are curious and to provide another data point, here are my stats:

3.3 ugrad (Biology)

3.8 prereq

99th %ile TEAS

Hospital volunteering experience from 10+ years ago, wet bench research experience, healthcare non-profit experience

Have you been able to apply yet? I'm running into the same issue...I emailed them back with all the info they requested and I'm wondering if we actually have to apply, or just give them the info. I can't find Cal State LA on the list of schools anywhere in Cal State Apply.

It says on the application procedure document on the ABSN Cal State LA website that we were supposed to be notified to apply starting Feb 2018, but I haven't gotten anything. I must email them.

you just need to create an account for the information. as long as you have the cis id, you are golden

Yeah I figured that out. I called the person who sent the email and she the wording was a bit confusing, but that's all we needed to do at this point.

Is this something only for those that have had interviews?

From what I can tell based on previous years' message boards, yes, just for those who have already gotten interviews. They will open it up as you have the interview. And I believe it's all those selected for interviews...not just those who were selected for the actual program!

Don't lose hope! They will be conducting interviews thru mid march.
