ABSN CSULA Summer 2018

Published

Hello ALL!

I wanted to start a topic about ABSN program at CSULA for Summer 2018 and get some feedback about applying, stats, and more. I am looking to apply here and to other similar programs and I wanted feedback about your experiences.

Goodluck! Let us know how it goes!

It's tomorrow morning - and of course I have half a voice and an ear infection. Not happy about that!

Good luck!

Hi friends!

I'm an ABSN applicant and waiting not-so-patiently for news... just found this thread. Good luck to you all!

@Jetsettingnurse Let us know how the interview went! Hope it went well and hope you're feeling better!

@DrTango it was through mail :)

Just emailed Professor Hinoki and got confirmation that they have received my packet.

I learned from Prassana (who is assisting her) that interview invites can come anytime until end of March.

Got an email tonight - got an interview!

What were your stats like? I'm starting to think my lack of prior experience is counting me out :( Congratulatons!!!!!

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Last 60 GPA: 3.9

Undergrad GPA: 3.6

Teas: 99th percentile overall

Experience: medical scribe, Kaiser volunteer, nursing non-profit work

Don't worry! It seems like they are interacting with applicants in waves. Keep your head up!!!!

It went well! There were about 10-15 interview questions and then a timed writing sample (2 prompts to answer). Quickest 25 minutes of my LIFE. You are then given an opportunity to ask any questions. She gave me a list of vaccinations and titers required by orientation, list of costs for the program, and what our course map/schedule would look like!

She also said she plans to interview people until mid-march and that we will find out decisions by the end of March!

I only have 120 hours of Cope for my medical field experience and got an interview!

@jetsettingnurse That's great your interview went well! It seems like it's a pretty straightforward interview process, nothing tricky!
