Hello ALL!
I wanted to start a topic about ABSN program at CSULA for Summer 2018 and get some feedback about applying, stats, and more. I am looking to apply here and to other similar programs and I wanted feedback about your experiences.

It went well! There were about 10-15 interview questions and then a timed writing sample (2 prompts to answer). Quickest 25 minutes of my LIFE. You are then given an opportunity to ask any questions. She gave me a list of vaccinations and titers required by orientation, list of costs for the program, and what our course map/schedule would look like! She also said she plans to interview people until mid-march and that we will find out decisions by the end of March!
Thanks so much for the information and updates! I'm glad to hear it went well for you :) I actually called today and they told me that they are still giving out slots but going "in order". I'm concerned about the order that they are going in though...I got my confirmation on Jan 5th and haven't received an interview.
@amarie6 When did you get your confirmation? I'm trying to figure out if since they are giving out later slots only to people with later confirmations or if I still have a shot! Probablly overthinking :)
Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting!!! This is my first choice school so I'm really hoping to get in.
I recieved confirmation yesterday that they got my application, now just waiting for an interview invite. I'm guessing they are doing it in waves because I got my confirmation a little later than most. So nervous! Good luck to everyone!
They are. She will be interviewing people until mid-March!
@Jetsettingnurse I'm glad it went well!! Is CSULA your first choice?
I'm assuming you can't tell us what the writing prompts were, but can you at least share if the topics were easy? Should we be knowledgeable in healthcare issues? Anything helps! If you don't feel comfortable sharing, no worries, I understand!

Honestly, it's my only choice hahaha I don't want to even apply to other schools (don't worry I will if I have to).
Not able to give the prompts, no, but I will say my prompts have nothing to do with current healthcare issues or anything like that specifically. They were just pretty general 'being a human being' type questions. I will say I really struggled with the second, but found the first easy. They weren't anything you can prepare yourself for. Like at all. I still don't have a good, formulated answer for that second prompt hahaha.

I think the admission panel is very particular about the TEAS results (particularly percentile rank for each of the 4 areas). I think that is the number one qualifier. Just my observation.
