ABSN Cal State San Marcos (CSUSM) Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

Just summited my application for the ABSN program at San Marcos for Spring 2020 last night! Thought I'd get a forum started for others who are applying as well instead of stalking all of the old forums. I took the TEAS a few days ago & am just waiting on some final transcripts to be sent to CSUSM.

Hi!

I just received an email with more information regarding our clearance items. In the email, I was advised to go to the following website to obtain more information: https://www.csusm.edu/el/programs/health-medical/bsnursingaccelerated/absnadmittedstudentinfo.html.

When I click the hyperlink "guide", it redirects me to another page instead of allowing me to view a PDF. Is anyone else having this issue? If not, would you be able to email me the PDF file please? ?

I didn't get the PDF either but if you hit tutorial you get some information. But I'm still confused

I emailed them and they responded that they are going to fix the problem. So hopefully we'll be able to download the PDF soon!

I received this from one of the admissions coordinators this morning: "We admitted the first round of applicants two weeks ago and just admitted another round for a few spots yesterday. We will admit more in two weeks if there are any spots available. Should you not be admitted for the Spring 2020 cohort, you will be considered for Summer 2020 without having to reapply."

For reference, I had an evaluation of 33 points. I was happy with that until I hopped on here and saw people with high 30s and 40s. I'm happy for those of you who were accepted. If you're in the same boat as me and are currently feeling deflated as hell, just know you're not alone.

Does anyone know if they will tell you if you didn't get in? Or do you only hear back if you're accepted?? My application status still says "complete" on the cal state apply website!

I've been emailing back and forth with an admissions coordinator, and she said: "we don’t send denial letters because most applicants are considered for the next term."

I'm just going to assume that if we haven't heard by the end of the month, we'll be reconsidered for Summer 2020.

Yeah, I initially felt pretty fine with my 34 points! I'll be applying to other programs as well so it's not the end for sure. It'll happen for us!! I'm realizing more and more that it just takes time.

I was admitted yesterday with 35 points.

Hi guys! I was accepted into the fall cohort but I declined my offer and had my application resubmitted for the spring cohort because I really want to be at the main campus since I live in SD already!

hello I'm considering on applying to this campus once you get accepted how long do you have to respond to give them the okay you are attending?

also once you are in the program can you set another forum here and tell us how you are doing so that I know what to expect when I apply for 2021. Thanks and good luck.

Has anyone heard back if there was a 3rd wave?

I emailed my advisor to ask if the class was already full, but got an automatic reply saying they are currently out of office. So maybe that means a third wave hasn't happened?
