NC has stopped issuing paper licenses. More and more states are heading in this direction. The accrediting and state licensing agencies no longer accept a photocopy of the physical license as "verification" of current licensure -- facilities must have documentation that they've verified the license on the issuing board's website.
I have a paper one, however, I ordered a card that is considered to be a legally used as my license; one has to already have a drivers or non-driver ID card/photo to obtain this. It has my license number, when it expires and my cheery photo. I prefer this, and carry it in my wallet, because it can be considered as legal identification as well as the fact that I never really know when I have to show or obtain my license number.

Hi Nurses,
I have a question for you- when you first get your paper license and they give you the little pocket size license, what do you do with it? Do you carry it in your wallet? Can you laminate it? What?
Thanks in advance!
