Hey I saw the blog and I'm not sure what u are furious about. Is it the title? the content? or something else? If it's one of the first two, whats the big deal?? If it's something else please elaborate.
As I said above, yes the title is inappropriate because nurses are not Media objects. It is also the content. The nurse does nothing but talk about the interns sex lives. That show portrays nurses horribly, There is one nurse on the show and she has an STD, from having sex with an intern in a closet of the hopital. There was also an episode where an intern gave a patient a Media movie with nurses in it to ease his pain. ON the pilot the intern was called a nurse by accident and she said "I hate you on principle" as if it was the worst insult she has ever heard.
In a nutshell this show in on the air and millions of people watch it. And see this blog. And then people wonder why there is a nursing shortage and why male nurses are frowned upon etc. People believe what they see on TV to be real. And nurses are not seen as they are in true life. They are seen as sex objects who do nothing but gossip about interns and have sex in the closets with doctors!
I'm a huge greys fan and they don't project nurses as Media objects. in fact most nurses on the show don't even have a story line they are just there to take care of the patients. I wish they would give the nurses roles in the show but I don't think they ever will. It would just tick people like you off if they did that anyway. The show is a drama and it's about the interns/residents/attendings. So of course she is going to talk about "the show" in her blog. The nurse's blog tells us things they see. And like I said it is a fictional drama.

Olivia was the nurse with the STD. She is the only nurse with somewhat of a story line. And if you watched the show you would know Alex (a doctor) gave her the STD and then she didn't show symptoms and later gave it to George. There was a staff meeting b/c the STD was going around the whole hospital. (and that is where we find out that Der and Mer are monogomous!)
There are tons of nurse Media movies maybe you should start a petition with the spice channel. Why do you hate that men fantasize about nurses lol.
You are also mixing up two episodes.
Alex was the one that called Mer a nurse. He was completely wrong about a diagnoses and the nurse was smarter than him and called him on it. Then he dealt with it like he deals with everything, anger. He said I hate nurses. Then another doctor said you are wrong (taking sides with the nurse). He called her a nurse knowing that she was a doctor (she had her lab coat on and they are both in the intern program). Then she said did you just call me a nurse. and he said if the white cap fits. He also failed his medical boards later.
Then many episodes later Christina said to Alex you are the pig that called Mer a nurse I hate you on principle. (her friend hates him so she hates him too)
Unfortunately, for all those pointing out that it is Just a TV Show, the vast majority of our public gets their information from TV Shows!
Suzanne Gordon has a lot to say about this issue. It's important to let the producers know that feeding into the perception of RNs as anything less than lifesaving professionals won't be tolerated.
Having worked as a nurse in a hospital, and watching all the new shows about hospital life, I can obviously see that there is nothing in common with the shows vs reality. Most interns are not clowning around in the halls, coming in drunk, needing a babysitter to get their schedules and work done, taking drugs via snort, swallow and inject. As soon as the first negative comment came out about nursing, I decided that I would not watch them anymore. And I agree with those who have said here and other places, that some may believe this crap goes on ALL the time and may try to avoid going into the hospital when they need to for fear these are the types of folks who will greet them.

Gordon does and she is right on. visit www.silencetovoice.com -- and if you are looking for good blogs besides this one there is also www.nurseblog.org
Charmed; 24; the Sopranos; Law and Order; House; Grey's Anatomy
I doubt that most of America believes witches are keeping us safe, Kiefer is a real "G-Man", Tony really is going to die before the next season, ALL good doctors have the bedside manner of House, or that ALL nurses have an STD.

Have any of you seen this, it is from ABC.com's Grey's Anatomy site - http://www.seattlegracegossip.com/
It is a nurse's blog. The nurse seems to want to talk only about the love lives of the interns. She has no interest in anything else. To top things off, the title is "Debbie does Seattle Grace". A take on "Debbie Does Dallas", a Media movie. Nurses are educated professionals, not Media stars!!!
I know you can send letters to the producers of ER, Greys Anatomy etc through www.nursingadvocacy.org .. if anyone has the time please protest this with me. It makes me so mad!!
