ABC.com nurse's blog

Published

Have any of you seen this, it is from ABC.com's Grey's Anatomy site - http://www.seattlegracegossip.com/

It is a nurse's blog. The nurse seems to want to talk only about the love lives of the interns. She has no interest in anything else. To top things off, the title is "Debbie does Seattle Grace". A take on "Debbie Does Dallas", a Media movie. Nurses are educated professionals, not Media stars!!!

I know you can send letters to the producers of ER, Greys Anatomy etc through www.nursingadvocacy.org .. if anyone has the time please protest this with me. It makes me so mad!!

I'm a huge GA fan - haven't missed an epi. That said, I have absolutely no problem with the Nurse's Blog - who cares? It's something stupid and made up to help people who missed and episode catch up. There's also the "Joe the Bartender" blog - the bartender from across the street that talks about the same things, only from the male perspective.

It's a witty addition to the webpage, and I enjoy reading it. I love being a nurse, and I think that some people take things to heart entirely too much. Relax. We're one of the top three respected professions in the USA - people aren't believing everything they read. Have some faith in the US's citizens. We're not ALL dimwits who follow like clueless sheep - just some of us :rotfl:!

To the OP, that "blog" isn't even *real*....it's just an extension of the show. I guess you have to watch the show to know that. I NEVER miss it...I think it's great entertainment....along with House.

Umm... no kidding, really? DUH! Of course it's not real. Are YOU for real? That's the whole point. That it's not real yet people across America may read it and think it is typical of a real nurse. They may think its is normal for nurses to play scrabble at work, and have nothing interesting to say other than report on the interns love lives. And that physicians are their bosses, not nurse managers, etc. It is a show that takes place in a hospital with mainly physician characters. To make up for a lack of nurses on the show, they have a fake "nurse's blog" that is named after a Media movie. Where the nurse does nothing but discuss the physicians. Like any real nurse cares about what interns and residents do, let alone know their names. The whole thing is ridiculous.

Those types of TV shows are as inaccurate in portraying doctors as they are nurses. Wonder if the docs are up in arms about it? Most of them probably never watch it, either.

I don't think that "people across America" are as stupid as you portray them. Oh, but then again they did vote for Bill Clinton twice.:chair:
