WOO HOO! I finished! I ended up with a 95 in lecture and 94 in lab! Now off to summer school.

We had our 100-question anatomy lab practical on neural structures and the sheep brain this morning. People seemed much more freaked out during this test than the bone and muscle tests.

Physio final next Wednesday and then it's on to O-chem during the summer (tried for Micro but it filled up on the first day of registration).

We started with 80 and have about 50 left. It'll be nice taking A&P II with some familiar faces in the fall.

I'm starting A&P I in two weeks. We are using Martini's 7th edition. I purchased the flashcards, and a coloring book. Now I'm wondering if the study guide ($44) would be helpful. I just don't want to spend and waste if it's not useful. Has anyone here used the study guide for Martini's, and if so was it helpful?

It wouldnt hurt to wait. I didnt purchase any of those things, and I finished out with a 93. Honestly, A&P 1 is mostly memorizing. I am not trying to say any part of it is easy, and the things you did purchase will probably be helpful. I'm sure they wont hurt, but if you dont have to spend any more, I would wait. I am sure there is free tutoring as far as the chemistry part goes. I used a tutor at my school for that.

Good luck. I am sure you will do fine.

yeaph! agree with texasangel, a&p is mosly memorizing. what helped me was to practice the questions at the end of each chapter. some students bought a voice recorder, according to them it was helpful. read every chapter way before you go to class, and listen to what the professor lectures while taking notes. and very importantly don't forget to pamper yourself whenever you can!

I would not bother purchase the study guide. To me, it is a waste of money. You have enough information in the book. I used to make my own flashcards. I recorded the class, typed my notes and study. Good luck to you. I did not even buy the book, someone lended a older edition. I used internet sources in certain areas.

I did tape lectures too. This was probably my biggest help.

I agree that the study guide is a waste of money. The interactive quizzes and tutorials online in conjunction with the text were more than sufficient.

Well, our final grades were just posted. 97 on the lecture final and 89 on the lab final. Gives me a 94 average for the semester. A&P II starts on Monday. Very psyched.

I should have mentioned that I'm taking the course via Internet. No instructor besides an email link and no lectures. Does that change what you all think?

p.s. you all have done so well with A&P, congrats!

I dont know how to advise on internet classes. I have never taken one, and I am not sure I want to do that. I really feel so much better about a classroom setting. Also, I like being around people. Good luck with it though. It might be the perfect situation for you.

I must admit, internet classes somewhat intimidate me. I might be more likely to buy a study guide. That is if I got brave enough. I have thought about it, but I chicken out every time. :lol2:

My A&P 1 instructor talked to me about A&P 2 online this summer, and in some ways, I think I might, but I will probably do the same as I always have and take the semester off if the Psychology instructor wont be able to teach the night class. She has had some health problems, but she would like to teach it at night. I guess we will see.

Oh my! you'll are soooo blessed.

I will be taking A&P 1 spring 07.All the information you provided will be avaluable asset to many of us.

It makes me feel so good to know that there are good people out there.

Hi there,

I have taken online classes at my previous University, and I loved it alot. They're the same amount of time that you would normally spend in a semester. Depending in the class you have to summit lessons every week.

you'll have to be a very organized person, and you have to set a few hours a week to submit work via asyncronous. Also, though I loved the online experience, I would never take a Mathematics course of any sort online, nor would I take any Biological sciences. They are rigorous courses, and would prefer to take them in the classroom.

Ex of classes I take online:

Sociology

psychology

anthropology

or any other classes where lots of reading need to be done.

Any way I just had to post this thread for you to realize that a course like A&P is very rigorous.

Thanks!
