No its wasn't the lab average it was the lecture average, I believe that our lab class is doing pretty well. The 50 average was on the first lecture test and the professor said that the first lecture test is always really low.

If the class average was 50, there is something wrong. For my first lab quiz, (identify 25 different tissues under a microscope), the class average was 82. The instructor did say that 82 was higher than usual for a first lab test, but 50 seems outrageous. We have had a lecture quiz every week. Only 10 questions, and I usually get 9/10. Our first lecture EXAM is on Friday. I am NOT looking forward to it. Anatomy seems like a ridiculously huge amount of info, most of which we will never use again. Still, when I am making the big bucks as an RN, I will know that I earned every cent of it !!

I just joined today, I got an 89% on my first exam and a 90% on my first Lab Exam. so far so good, need to get them in the A range to be safe for further tests. I have my Lab bone test thursday. there are alot of online free quizzes hosted by other schools that I've used to quiz me and to see them differently. search google for "bone quiz" and look around, If anybody wants the good sites let me know and I will post the links.

Please post any exceptional websites that you know of for bones! I'm using what I have found from these forums so far...but I'm so nervous about my Lab Practical on Monday! It's over Tissues, Integumentary System, and Bones. I'm good with Tissues and I.S., but all those bones are making me crazy! Help!

Thanks in advance!

I didn't use any particular website, but I did use the anatomy coloring book. I know it sounds silly but by coloring and reading about the bones-- it kind of stuck in my memory!! You can find it at any bookstore--

Good luck!

This one is pretty good but be careful, I think I found a mistake on the skull. Either it's wrong or my book is wrong.

Hey everyone

I am really kind of worrying about my lab tomorrow. We will be dissecting our cats for the first time tomorrow. I am interested in this, just to see everything I am learning in an actual context. I have never dissected anything before. I am worried that I won't be able to stand it because I am a HUGE animal lover. I worked in a hospital for a while so I have seen many gross things and I was fine. I am just worried about my first dissection experience. Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice!

It went great! I was just nervous since it was my first time

I just spend two entire days making my own flashcards for the bones. I don't feel like this amount of information is retainable. I am extremely overwhelmed. Does anyone have any advise? We have to know epithelial tissues, connective tissues, anatomical teminology, the skull, bony thorax, and upper and lower extremity (pretty much every bone in body) Just the skull alone is freaking me out! Any advise...please?

Oh and out of all this information the lab test is only 40 questions. Could be anything though. There are only 2 lab test for the entire semester. I wish they would break it up more. AHHHH

My instructor, who is great by the way, didn't even advise us to make flashcards for bones, just get lots of lab time in for the actual bones. For muscles and histology he advised flashcards would help greatly.

I think I failed my midterm! Which means that I fail A&P, I don't know what to do I m freaking out and I wont get my grade back until wed. I knew the material on the diagrams buy trying to name everything on real bone sucked and i think i failed.

Hang tight, you might have done better than you think.
