Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.
Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

Fun2Care, what's the difference between the two if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking at them from amazon.com and see about a $10 price difference. I also see the option to buy them both. Should I? Or is that a waste? If they really aren't that different I'd rather get the Matt book, because that's only $3, but I wonder which one is better.
They look really helpful!

Hi Rebecca,
I looked at both in the nursing section at the college bookstore and can't remember why I chose Kapit & Elson. But, knowing me, there had to be a reason regarding detail..... I do know that I absolutely love it and also bought the one for physiology. :)
The book for microbiology was written by Alcamo & Elson.... and it's really good too.
The coloring book was required for Anatomy, but not the other classes. I thought it was such a great aid (I'm a visual learner) that I bought the others too.
Check Ebay... that's where I bought the Phys one..... cheap! :chuckle
Best Wishes! :) :) :)

PhoenixGirl, I prefer the one by Kapit also (in agreement with mryrose), but I can't remember the differences either.
As for this thread, we will keep it going all semester. If you have specific question, then you can post it here, and one of us will try to answer it.
I got my coloring book from Barnes&Noble. It was $19.95. they didn't have any at the school bookstore
I compared various books- this one is "ANATOMY coloring workbook" by I. Edward Alcamo 2nd edition Princeton Review
I liked the format better than the others.
It's been a good help in reviewing cell structure and histology.
My family thinks I'm strange too for studying so much, and also for starting early. But I think it is just the way to insure success! I do not want to get behind at all.
So far I'm doing lesson 1 and it's all about homestasis, feedback, structural complexity, basically a review of the bio class I just got out of. The cell physiology is what I'm not looking forward to though! I'm definitely going to need help when we get to that, I think ch. 3 in the marieb book.

BTW, I asked my instructor which coloring book she recommended and she said the best one (for my class, which uses Marieb 6th edition) would be the Princeton Review book called Anatomy Coloring Workbook by Alcamo.
I plan on trading in my English book Monday, so I will see if the bookstore has a coloring book there. :)
Holy cow I just started A & P on Monday and it is a whollotta info in a short time. ANy one have good study tecniques with the bone processes?
Here is a wonderful website called "the bone box" It is interactive, and very cool. Check it out...http://www.meddean.luc.edu/lumen/MedEd/GrossAnatomy/learnem/bones/main_bone.htm
Good luck!

The Anatomy Coloring Book (2nd Edition)

or
Human Anatomy Coloring Book
by Margaret Matt
I'm not sure which is better, if either. A coloring book really seems to help some people, from what I've read on Allnurses.com. You can purchase one of these at online bookstores, at times Ebay or Half.com has one, or go to a bookstore around where you live. Good luck! :)
