Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.

Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

For all those who are using Marieb 6th, I just accessed the "MYA&P" site. SOOOOOO much helpful stuff on there! I got the access packet with my book- even though it was used :) I highly recommend taking a look if you can. they also have registration with an ID # your prof can give you, so ask if interested.

They have practice tests, unit reviews, flashcards, histology images, etc. I think it will be an excellent resource.

I haven't tried the interactive physiology CD yet.

During the summer, I purchase the entrance fee for the MyPlace (or whatever it is called) for the Mareib book. I agree, even that is supposed to be basic compared to the MyA&P section, and I loved it!!

I can't remember right now, did you start class yet? Did your instructor not have to give you a code to use it?

I start on Jan 18th. The text included an access kit with a code for "MY A&P"-this allowed me to use the A&P PLACE only. The instructor ID is for "course compass"-a more involved supplement to class and personalized by the instructor if they want to use it. It would be nice to have, but, you're right, the basic site will be useful even without it. I'll know more in a few weeks :)

I start A&P 1 on January 11 and I am very excited to the point of being in hysterics :rotfl: A lot of my friends from high school who went to a larger university and then had bad grades due to an excessive amount of partying will be coming back closer to home this semester and I hope I don't get too distracted.

Okay I think my brain is officially on overload.

I went and picked up my spring semester books this week.

My A&P books alone were about $280 (ouch).

Of course thats one book, a study guide, lab manual, photographic manual, visual atlas, and 2 cd's. I must agree with the prev. post........my brain will soon be mush!

It's a really good thing I have a friend attending the same classes.

And we are sooooo greatful to have all of you with us! :wink2:

Welcome Chad_KY_SRNA! If you think about being distracted by your friends, ask yourself if they will be paying your bills later on if you do not do well on your classes. You have to take care of yourself. They already messed up, don't let them mess you up.

Also, if they are that great of friends they will understand. :)

Good luck!!!

:rotfl: I know...the cost of the course and books alone should buy an A! :chuckle I'm not even going into the mental strain the course can cause, and the physical strain from having to carry the books! :chuckle

That sounds like a lot of people I knew back when I was 18. I thought they were so much better than me because they got to go to popular and expensive schools and then moved far away. Most of them were back with in a year though due to bad grades and were either bumming around or attending the local CC. I couldn't help but think it was funny.

Physical strain ..... i think that's why i haven't gone to the bookstore yet. I am dreading just seeing what the books look like, let alone weigh. I have my Chem 101 and A&P 1 classes on the same day and i have this premonition that i am going to hurt my back carrying those books :crying2:.... oh well, can't be helped.

I start Monday night- our school crams A&P 1 and 2 all into one semester! We really didn't have many books that were required to buy either, just the text and lab manual. I did buy the coloring books, one of the nurses I work with said they were really helpful for her.

Definitely physical strain. Had to call my mum for a ride home becuase my books were that heavy. Barely made it out to the car with those books. Luckily have classes on alternating days so don't have to cary everthing at the same time.:) Looking for the right rolling backpack to make things easier. I've resisted a rolling backpack before on the basis I was living in Seattle at the time, and who wants to roll through puddles. But now there's no point fooling myself.

Holy cow I just started A & P on Monday and it is a whollotta info in a short time. ANy one have good study tecniques with the bone processes?
