A&P 1 what would you do?

If you got a C in A&P 1 would you retake it to get a higher grade? I'm just thinking about my overall GPA in science. Any thoughts?

nope! I'd be happy I got my passing grade and move on!

I agree with the earlier post. I would move on and do better in A&P 2! Also you can do well in Microbiology. My school says if you make a C you don't have to retake it. Or at least they advise that you're ok if you don't. You can always email the Nursing Dept and see what their thoughts are.

I wouldn't retake it. I got a C+ as my final grade due to personal issues affecting my school work. I would just do better in A&P 2 and study everything you learned from the class again. I'm going to spend my time this summer going over notes on everything to be prepared for a better grade in 2.

How competitive is the nursing program at your school? How is your overall GPA?

it really depends.. a friend of mine didn't get into nursing school last year, retook A&P I because she got a C in it and got a much better grade this time around.. and she got into nursing school!

best of luck to you :)

I agree it depends on your school. My school that I am working to get into is going to a competative program, so I am not sure a "C" would cut it for admission. There will be many applicants that have a 4.0 you will be going up against.

Depends on how much time you have before applying, your schools cutoff of people actually getting accepted into the program. I would probably retake it b/c most programs are competitive and I found AP2 to be more difficult. GL !

Thank you guys so much for your help! I take my final tomorrow so if after the final I get a B for the class I'll take that. If I get a C I will seriously consider taking the class over. I'm hoping to get into Drexel's nursing program. As of right now I don't have a GPA lol because I'm just starting my pre-reqs but I don't want anything less than a 3.5 when I finally apply!

I know a lot of people who say, "One time and done." Honestly, with the program I'm shooting for, a C wouldn't cut it, competitively. I'd either have to take the course again or choose a different route.

There is no way I would get into my program with a C in a science course.

I would agree with everyone that said it depends on how competative your program is and how much much the GPA is a factor. I have a 3.78 and that will get me into the program at my school in alaska, but last year I had looked into another school in boise, idaho and they basically told me flat out that a 3.78 wasn't good enough because they had WAY more people applying to their program, with a lot of people that retook classes to get a 4.0.
