a. How many credits you are taking next semester
b. What part of A&P 1 you are looking forward to, are you nervous?
c. How long you have to apply?
d. Some random thing about you?
Lets gooooooo................
Check this thread for some amazing notes by a member.... Polka-dot.(You Rock!!)...for notes on A&P....and welcome to anatomy heaven...:)

Serene,
I've been following your thread portion about your A&P professor and want to underline the suggestion made by bhanson that you find another instructor for II. Some people just aren't meant to teach and, unfortunately, degreed people willing to teach undergraduate science are hard enough to find for most schools so, all too often they are willing to grant adjuncts to people who just don't really care much about whether you get it or not.
Ask around, there are websites as well where students "grade" their professors, check your school, find out who the best instructors are and select them for your courses.
I have been blessed to have a dynamite science instructor, I had him for BIO and A&P I and rearranged to get him for II. He's a n MS in Biology with an EMT license and experience as well, so he really understands medical application. He's not easy but he's an awesome communicator and someone who was, clearly, born to teach.
I hope you can find someone like him to make your experience better, the knowledge is worth it.
God bless,
Mike
Hi, I'm Anya. I am taking 17 credits this semester: Spanish 2 (72%), Elementary Algebra (86%), Intro to Computers (silly pre-req 100%) and Anatomy (65%).
I am having such a hard time with ensuring I study well enough to recall all the material that could possibly be on the exams, quizzes and lab practicals.
I just need microbiology, physiology and two more math classes to be done with my pre-reqs for Nursing. But I am also pursuing an AA in Spanish/Healthcare Science prior to getting into a program - I need to get back to work!
Does anyone have any tips?
Yes!
Get back to work!
I say that with affection, Anya. It's all too easy to let things slide, but you have to stay engaged, take copious notes, involve yourself in study groups, actively compete with the best students in your classes for grades, study often and really hard, use 3x5 cards.
This doesn't last forever, keep your eyes on the objective, time is getting shorter every day though it may seem a long way off but soon you'll be graduating and the best jobs go to people with the best transcripts (unless their mom is a nurse manager at the hospital they are going to work at but that's another story).
You can do this, just strap in and do it!
Mike
I don't do the study groups thing, to be honest. It'd probably be easier if I did, but I have trouble making friends (I'm shy) and, well, to be honest...most of the people in my class are preppy idiots. So.
I'm taking 21 credits next quarter. All science-based. It's gonna be rough - non-school days, I plan to study six+ hours a day or so. I'm only in school two days a week.
To explain, I'm a quarter-system. You guys are starting the nervous system in A&P1 - well, that's A&P2 for me, along with Endocrine and Reproductive systems.
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is well and studying hard!
Just got back my results from my muscles lab exam, Whew, I was sure I was gonna blow that one. That was the first test that I was super nervous about for some reason. Turns out I only missed 1:yeah:
Got a 94 on the rest of those pesky drawings so I'm feeling good coming down the home stretch. 5 weeks left, I feel drained but gotta keep pushing.
congratulations mango!
Im just here because I need to vent about our Lab. It is God-awful. My campus has a
bad reputation for having a difficult Lab. Some of the models have no keys, the ones
that do, have different names for features, or dont include everything that is asked for
in the Lab manual. Its too hard to describe how whacky the Lab is, there are too
many things wrong with it. Bottom line, we are unable to get our Labs done and yet
we will be tested on them! The science dept is aware of the issues, (even mistakes in
the keys) and they do nothing about it. I went to both Labs this week and no there is
no open Lab. Im so angry at my schools science dept. It doesnt have to be like this.
No reply necessary, just venting.
How's everyone's end of term going?
Our class started out with @ 34 students, after the muscles exam we're now down to maybe 15.
I'm feeling a little rejuvenated, but we still have 2 exams and a final to go, until we're finished at the end of May. Hard to push on when the weather is warming up and I can almost smell summer...
