Hi everyone,

I am in need of some help with my A&P 1 right now. If anyone can and is willing to help I would love that. Anyone that would want to help me you can send me a pm. Thank you soo much.

Casey

What do you need help with?

I don't know how to send a pm, but I did really well in A&P 1. What's your question?

You will be able to send a pm once you have 15 posts. You may send a private message to a member by clicking the 'Send New Message' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel, or by clicking the page_edit.gif 'Send a Private Message' icon that appears in a member's posts when you click on their username.

Why not just post the questions here?

I'm in A&P1 and we just wrapped up our first week which covered Chemistry as well as a Molecular Transport Lab. I feel I have a pretty good grasp on the material. Perhaps post your question here and I can assist?

Hang in there, it gets better!!

I was studying the chemistry all day yesterday. What is the molecular transport lab?

The Molecular Transfer Lab was dealing with Diffision, Osmosis and Active Transport.

Oh thanks, we are going over that this week. This class is so unbelievable difficult. Its not that I cant learn the material, but the pace is super fast. For the past year I have felt like school is more about being in a race, than learning.

There are 100 questions on our exam and thousands of details to know. I have the powerpoint and the lecture, but the exams are over more than just memorizing. How do I know where to focus my time? If I spent 40 hours a week on A&P I couldnt have time for all of this. I still dont see why these classes are so mysterious.

Anne, You kind of have to multi-task on studying for A&P. There is no "one" way that will fulfill all you need to know. Some is straight memorizing definitions and facts and there is understanding concepts/processes and being able to relate those back.

I'm not sure what book you are using? We are using Marieb 8th edition. The way I studied was as I read thru each chapter there were questions at the end of each section. I made sure I knew those answers. Then at the end of each chapter there was yet another set of questions. Went thru and made sure I understood those. I also took full advantage of the wonderful sticky at the top of this forum about A&P...From my brain to yours. There are some wonderful sites that were very helpful! If your textbook has a companion website...use it. Also we have iP 10 System Suite (Interactive Physiology) which is great for explaining difficult concepts and understanding things like the chemistry, biology, muscle chemistry/funtion, etc...That was last semesters class.

This semester for A&P two it's different (different professor) We also read our text, but she goes a lot of power points and a study guide she has published for her tests. Still the same though....some straight memorizing, and then understanding concepts and processes.

I had a very high A in my A&P class and to get that I made sure I studied at least 5 days a week, at least 2hrs a day. (usually more) A&P requires a high amount of dedication. Human Growth and Sociology together didn't require the studying I did in A&P (and am doing in A&P 2) I love the subject matter and actually find Algebra to be much harder to manage! :p

The pace IS fast but managable....I have felt as you do....it seems like a race. After your first test you will go "aha....this is how our tests will go. I think what helped me was just keeping extremely organized and time managed.

FL Doula, Yes, that is my text and I have been doing the same thing, checking the understanding at the end of each section and then the multiple choice at chapter end! The critical thinking questions dont have answers and they are kind of tricky for me. Im getting my 10 system suite in this weekend. I want to check the Acids Bases before the first exam. I think you are right, I hope the first exam will help me figure out a study pattern.
