A&P II: The Summer '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Decided to go ahead and create a new thread...

I am taking A & P II at Valencia Community College in Orlando FL. We start May 12th...

I am an Online ASN Student at Deaconess College of Nursing in St Louis. I have taken a leave of absense for the summer so I will only be focusing on A & P. Guess I am not really a pre-nursing student, hope no one minds.

I am looking forward to sharing experiences!

YAYYYYYYYYY I just found out I passed A&P I with a 99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ranked #3 in my class of 55 students. Now I'm moving on to A&P 2 starting tomorrow on July 8, so count me in for summer II. I will be going W-F 5:30 to 10:00 pm and Sat. 10 - 2 am. Hope I will get time to come in more often to keep in touch with all that is happening.

Will keep my fingers crossed for everyone.

AWESOME job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my A in A&PII Lecture. Yeah!!

I had a good feeling last friday when I took the final, but it's nice to have it finally confirmed. The coolest part is that I got a 79 out of 80 on the final. Only one wrong. I think it was the Vitamin E question.

But not to worry. I'll be around for another 6 weeks as I do the lab. Luckily I have an easy instructor. The effort it requires is not more than makes sense for a 1 credit class.

Off to celebrate.

You guys are scaring me about micro. I'm taking it this fall and was REALLY hoping it was going to be easier (less work) than A&P. :o

I thought Micro was easier than Physiology for certain... My anatomy class wasn't too bad but I breezed through Micro. I like the whole microscope thing though. Really it isn't that bad!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Yayyy on everyone doing so good on their tests!!! Let's hope the trend continues when I have my midterm next week. I'm almost wishing I'd taken the 5wk summer program, this is just dragging on. I'm not supposed to finish until Sep 3rd, which is my dd's 7 birthday. which is sort of a strange coincidence since my midterm is on my other dd's 2nd bday. What fun, studying for a final and midterm while planning bday parties. On a good note though, I found a nursing school that is considered part-time 'cause you only go Fri and Sat, but you don't get summers off so it's still only 22 months. WHooo hooo.

I'm taking Micro as a television/online class, both lecture and lab. I won't be looking in any microscopes, just simulated ones. (I like it that way. :p )

Congratulations to all who are doing well in class.......I hope the trend continues......

PS I talked to my nursing school (which accepted me for fall '06) and found out yesterday that I will not be starting in fall '06 but in fall '05!!! Im going to be an official nursing student August 29th 2005!!

Only three weeks to go...1 Exam, 1 Practical, and the Final...

So far I am holding a B...I really have enjoyed this class and have learned SOOOOO much...

We are working on Metabolism, Renal, Electrolytes, Acid Base Balance... :uhoh3:

Cheri :)

That's exactly what we are about to get into as well cbarnett2. It looks pretty interesting. Of all the chapters we have done so far the only one I didn't like as much was respiratory...I don't know why really - I think I just found it a bit dry. I *loved* digestive/cardiovascular/immune...and urinary looks to be right up my alley as well...then it's reproduction and then it's all over!

So I got a B on my first exam which is wonderful considering the amount of time that was NOT put into studying. :chuckle I was looking at my syllabus and we arent covering the urinary or reproductive system. I wonder what other chapters we arent doing.

From today forward I promise to study and stay on top of my work and not to slack!!!

WOw r_janice I am really suprised you aren't going to cover urinary. We are actually spending a good deal of time on it..our teacher is adamant that renal is one of the most important aspects of A+P to learn. Maybe you will touch on it elsewhere..I dunno.I can see reproductive as not as *much* a bigger deal. At first my teacher was going to skip lymphatic+immune but when it was pointed out to him that we didn't touch on those in A+P I he added them in.

Congrats on your B- that's pretty darn good for such little studying:)

OMG, I am totally freaking out right now. I have my midterm due by Sat (online A&P) and I'm trying to study and I'm not absorbing any information. It's like I never read these chapters before and am starting fresh or something. My friend took it last semester and said the midterm is REALLY hard, and I think that's part of the problem.

Just ranting,
