Decided to go ahead and create a new thread...
I am taking A & P II at Valencia Community College in Orlando FL. We start May 12th...
I am an Online ASN Student at Deaconess College of Nursing in St Louis. I have taken a leave of absense for the summer so I will only be focusing on A & P. Guess I am not really a pre-nursing student, hope no one minds.
I am looking forward to sharing experiences!

Ugh I just took the HARDEST test I have ever taken in my entire life and it was just on respiratory. Our first 2 tests ( heart, vessels, digestive) and our 2nd test ( blood, lymphatic, immune) were very easy to me and this one just really kicked me in the rear! Plus, I studied soooooooooooooooooooo hard for it and I just don't know what else I could have done. She said she won't post the grades until Thurs ( it's an online course) which is odd because we got our 1rst 2 exam grades the second we were done taking them. I have a REALLY bad feeling about this and I am a wreck over it. UGH!
Itll be okay. No worries :icon_hug: Im sure you did pretty well. Wish you the best of luck.
Now Im off to study for my 1st exam (Thursday nite) of three It covers five chapters
Let me know how your test went..........When is your class over?
August 9th. For some reason we really SPED through the first 3 tests and now according to our syllabus we really slow down...she's taking a lot of time for urinary + electrolyte/fluid/balance. Then we do reproductive then some on genetics and then it's over. I have 2 more tests and 1 lab prac left in 5 weeks......the first 5 weeks was 3 tests and 1 lab prac.
I just hope I did well enough to pull off a high C/B. I am pretty sure I did- I KNOW I didn't get an A- but I honestly don't know where some of those questions came from. Like I said the first 2 tests I thought were walks in the park and WHAM then comes this doozy LOL. There were questions that I was like " Oh I know that answer" and then that answer WASNT there! I was like " AAACK". Oh well.. I will know on Thurs. *hopefully* I guessed right on a lot.

Wow!! I feel bad for you. My class is only 5 weeks, 3 exams, and 2 practicals long, that is quite enough. I couldnt imagine taking more than 5 weeks of it more or less 5 tests ! :chuckle I imagine if I had taken it in the fall 15 week or spring 15 week I woulda shot myself.........
10 weeks versus 30 weeks........Im glad I chose to get both done in 10 weeks!!!
My A&P2 is 5 weeks as well.... a little nervous, especially b/c the lecture is on video tape. It's probably the whole regular semester of lectures that we'll be responsible to watch and learn in 5 weeks. ugggh (I start Tuesday, July 12th, after MicroSUX ends this Thursday!)

Wow...I feel for you all...LOL! Funny isn't it how one person sees it one way and another yet another way?
I have no earthly clue how I could have retained/soaked in/learned all I learned in A+P I in 5 weeks. I did it in 14 - we went reaaaalllllllyyyyy indepth. Are 5 week courses more " broad" or should I say - hit the most important aspects?

I hear that! Reading two chapters a week this summer is about as much as I can handle. There's no way I could read four or even three chapters each week!
The end is near for me! Just fluids/electrolytes, genetics and the final next Saturday. Woohoo!!!
I hope so! lol The 8-week MicroSUX class was bad enouth!
I got my lab/lecture manual last night. If that is all we have to learn, and nothing from the Marieb booked I used at the other school, I may be ok. It doesn't seem easier, just more to the point. (Oh to be back in A&P......gonna love it!)

Believe me it definitely is ALOT to retain but my professor is great(I also had him from 5/23-6/23 for A&PI). He works with us (thank god since this is his first time teaching summer classes) and understands its alot in such a short time. All tests are multiple choice (approximately 20 questions from each chapter), 'like the boards' as he says. He doesnt give a question on the test with one minute detail; he'll give about three hints in the question and then the choices are not difficult to choose from as long as you studied. I dont master the material. I make sure I KNOW at least 3/4 of the chapters covered, then just be familiar with the other 1/4. At least thats what I did for A&PI and I got an A. I hope it works for A&PII as well. Fortunately we only have to cover about 15 chapters in this class, last class it was 20 chapters in 20 days so each test was about 5-6 chapters.
First exam tomorrow.................first practical on Monday
