Decided to go ahead and create a new thread...
I am taking A & P II at Valencia Community College in Orlando FL. We start May 12th...
I am an Online ASN Student at Deaconess College of Nursing in St Louis. I have taken a leave of absense for the summer so I will only be focusing on A & P. Guess I am not really a pre-nursing student, hope no one minds.
I am looking forward to sharing experiences!

Well last night I got my lympathic/repiratory exam grade, 77% I guess I feel happy with that since several people have now dropped the class after getting their results.
I was pretty happy to find I got an 81% on the lab practical though...At this point I think I am averaging a high B in the class overall.
Not bad for someone that has been slacking for the last two weeks. This is suppose to be my summer off... :chuckle

I have to tell you Fun2Care I have been reading the Micro thread and it has played up to my greatest fears ..that I will loathe the class. LOL. Good thing is the professor I have for Micro has been teaching it for 30 years and from what I have heard is an " amazing" teacher. We don't even have a book. He has his own program and he just gives us supplements. I have already looked over the first 2 labs and am " uuugghh". I think i will REALLY miss A+P. I have loved A+P. I am NOT looking forward to Micro.
I just got my case study assignment. I've been anxious about it simply from fear of the unknown. I don't get it! No, actually I DO get it and that's what I don't understand. It's too darned easy. I just read the information given and instantly knew it was endometriosis. Not much of a challenge there. I'm a little spooked that it was TOO easy, but there's no mistaking the diagnosis. This is 10% of our final grade. Maybe it's meant to be some easy points. There's no other opportunities for freebies in this class. I hope that's the case because ALOT of my classmates need all the help they can get just to pass! (I'd feel better with a little cushion for my A also.)
land64shark so do you mean you wre given a case study and had to name the disease/disorder/etc?
in A+P I we had to write a case study on any disease/disorder of the systems we had talked about. I chose Keratosis Pilaris ( Integumentary) because my son has it.
In A+P II we have to do the same thing. I think I will do mine on ovarian cysts because I have them.

Yes, that's what we have to do. Aside from diagnosing the medical problem, we have to explain the medical condition (in this case endometriosis). We have to justify the prescribed medication (danazol) and give reasons why oral contraceptives could also have been prescribed instead. All in all, it just seems too easy for 10% of our final grade. But like I said, there's no other oportunities for freebies in this class because all tests are graded automatically and immediately online (except the final).
Speaking of finals, do any of you guys get to find out exactly how you did on your finals? I just receive the total final grade. Hmm... maybe the prof can throw in a few freebies on it if they want to and we'll never know.
Hey guys, congrats to all those who passed their exams. I am taking my second lecture exam this Tuesday and my first lab practical this Wednesday. Thank goodness they both relate to one another or I would be totally freaking out. LOL I had this professor last semester and I think his test are fairly easy and very straight forward so hopefully it wont be a problem. Well good luck to all those who are going to be taking exams, I am off to study some more before I hit the sack for the night.
OK guys, I started A&PII on Monday, class is M-Th 6p-10p for 5 weeks. So far we have covered blood and in the middle of the heart. I think Im burnt out from my 5 weeks of A&PI because my brain is just all over the place. I cant concentrate in lecture and I dont feel like studying. Or am I being like this because class just started? I dunno! Hopefully Ill snap out of it and get with it so I can get an A in this too!! Wish me luck (please)
