Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for A&P II. Does anyone know if there's a process to request a thread being made sticky?

Has anyone been getting a jump start on class by reading ahead? I found my Prof's powerpoint notes online, so I'm making some flash cards as well :)

Peace,

Cathie

I just started A&P 1 this week, and my second class is Wednesday. My instructor seems really cool, and everyone that I talked to speaks very highly of him. The class and lab are going to be a lot of work, and I knew that before, from the horror stories peope have told. ;) But I think it is going to be fascinating! I've just about finished reading through and outlining the first chaopter, and there are so many new terms. I think I will be thankful I took Medical Termonology first. :p

don't listen to the horror stories! if you go in with an attitude like you have you will do fantastic, AP is by far my favorite course so far, enjoy!!

I'm in A&PII right now along with Medical Terminology which I wish I had taken last semester! Hah, but at least I know the information and do well on the med. terminiology exams. A&PII isn't so bad. My teacher's sort of laid back and realizes that it's next to impossible to force us to memorize all the stuff thrown at us. Our labs aren't that bad as I was expecting them to be. Each group of 4 students was given a cat to dissect for the entire semester. So far we've just gone over the muscles, but Thursday we're going to open it up to look at the blood vessels and organs. Gross, but probably won't be as bad as when we had to skin that cat the first day.

Has anyone taken A&P II online???

I am here to say that the instructor makes a huge difference!!! I took the first phase of A & P at a public university near Ohio. My instructors were so used to spitting out grades and weeding put students, I think they forgot we were humans just like they were. They offered no help except to say " There are some online videos on Blackboard". UGH!!! So needless to say I ended up with a C in that class. And I worked my butt off for that C! My second phase was taken at a private Christian University. My instructors were so helpful and informative! I went into class expecting to struggle and came out having learned tons! I am so proud of that A! I love teachers who want thier students to succeed!

We're in our last couple of weeks here in NH. I have a really tough exam in Anatomy and Physiology II tomorrow. Because of a snow day, the professor combined the reproductive systems of both male and female, and Pregnancy and Human Development. It's quite a lot to wrap my mind around. And a lot to remember

My exam is at 10:30-11am Friday morning. Then 2 1/2 hour Endocrine Lecture followed by the lab. Woohoo! The following week will be the final review. The week after that will be the final exam and the final practical. Most of us are fried. I can't wait for a break before Micro and Statistics this summer.

I still have about 4 more weeks to go I wish I were nearly done but we are coming to the end but still have a few more big things to get through, I am doing pretty well though so far so hopefully I can keep it up.

Hello everyone. Thank god its almost the end of the semester 2 more weeks to go.:lol2: I just finished my lab test which was blood tracing. BTW we dissect on real cadavers, so we don't have the cat, or the pig. I don't know if anyone else does blood tracing, but its tracing a drop of blood through the entire body. The blood tracing exam was worth 45 points and she gave a few extra credit points. Needless to say i got 54/45 points. I aced it. :monkeydance: So our very last test is Tuesday 4-24. I only need to get 31 points out of the 90 points its worth. I hope to come out of this class with a B.

I am jelous we still have 4 more weeks to go, it will go by fast though.

good luck on your test!

I took both of my A&Ps online - my school doesn't offer live labs for it at all, and you can choose to either listen to the prof lecture live or listen to a prerecorded media file of him giving the exact same lecture a few semesters ago (yes, it's the same, he reads the power points to you) as a media file at home. It's a crappy class, but it's how my school does it. They're trying to offer as many classes as possible online, to save money...but we still have a 96+% NCLEX pass rate!

Well my final is on Tuesday and I am feeling overwhelmed! I've got a solid A in the class, but the final is cumulative and worth 150 points. Looking back it's a lot of stuff. But I sure enjoyed A&P 2 a whole lot more than A&P 1. :)
