Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for A&P II. Does anyone know if there's a process to request a thread being made sticky?

Has anyone been getting a jump start on class by reading ahead? I found my Prof's powerpoint notes online, so I'm making some flash cards as well :)

Peace,

Cathie

Halfway mark!

We are at the halfway mark at my school I got my average so far in AP2 is 98 yahoo! Micro is 96 but I'll bring that up hehehee.

The semester is flying by but still can't wait for it to be over so I can breath a sigh of relief.

I applied to a nursing program yesterday my first one but its waitlist only so I just applied to get my name in, I don't have any high hopes of hearing back anytime soon. I will apply to my school in September for the spring 08 semester I can't wait!!

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I can't wait for A&P II to be finished too. I'm doing very well in the course, but at this point in the semester, I can feel myself starting to burn out. The period between the last regular exam and the final exam/practical is definitely a challenge to keep on top of!

Specializes in LTC.

I have to take A&P II this summer. Could use the rah rah cheerleaders as I'm dreading it. :uhoh21:

Get the Barron's Study Guide "Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way". It's an excellent supplement as it explains the basics in simple (well, simpler compared to the 25lb textbook!) terms.

I've been recommending it to anyone I know taking A&P.

Specializes in none.

I would love to join the A&P group, i am currently in A&P 1, and everday we have a lab exam or a lecture exam. my instructor told us at the beginning of the semester that if we have children to tell our babies fathers that they have to care for them until this class is over in order to pass the class. although sometimes i thought that maybe he was right, i am still managing to pass this class so far. thank god!

we are a little over the halfway mark, we have spring break next week so that will help, but ya I am feeling the burn out too I am so ready for this semester to be over, I am so close to my goal I can taste it! The only problem with spring break is you relax a little and you don't want to get back in the groove!

oh man I'll cheer for you its a blast by far my favorite class!!! we are doing cardiovascula right now so fascinating, I love AP2 much more then 1 as well I feel so much more "grown" up hehehehee really a great class I would take the full 16 weeks because its so much fun 8 weeks will be too short hehe.

how is that??

well I have 3 small kids my husband is gone all week and I also take Micro, I manage just fine, it is a lot of work but I schedule and plan up the whazoo and I do infact study a lot but my kids don't seem to notice too much.

I had spring break 2 weeks ago, then last week I got accepted to nursing school - YAY!!!! Thing is, now I have an A&P exam on Tues and it's much harder to get motivated to study. I have to maintain a 3.5 or they rescind my acceptance, but I have 130-ish credits so it's really hard to change my GPA much with one semester. It's already Thursday and I still have about 30 pages to read before I even start studying....and I have to work all weekend...must stop procrastinating on allnurses!

My school is on quarters and not semesters, so A&P2 is over for me and I start A&P3 on Monday. This past term was crazy....so I'm glad it was a term and not a semester.

Peace,

Cathie

I agree, A&P 2 is far more interesting and fun than A&P 1. Plus, a lot fo what I learned in A&P 1 carries over into A&P 2, so it actually seems easier than the first semester was.

A&P 1 got so tedious with the muscle and bone sections that felt like they'd never end :o

I go to Hunter College in New York and my A/P professor sucks! Persell!
