Okay, I'm totally off-topic but wanted to share some pics of my kids in their choir. This is the University Conservatory Choirs and they are singing all together. Dd is in the middle age group of the girls and ds is in the only boys' group. The concert is "Singers Helping Singers" and they have a whole bunch of other choirs (3 senior high schools combined, a small church choir, a men's choir and a school choir) as well singing in it, with the final song all of them standing around the entire church (no, this isn't my church). Kind of cool! They were so cute!!
Dd is on the far left, second row from the top; ds is in the center in the second row from the bottom (right next to the girls), with his mouth wide open!
And, if you're really keen (or have a fast connection lol), here is a video of one of the songs! Singing latin and some wicked clapping!! Ds and the little boy beside him look like they are going to some sort of race. That conductor is the same one who does my choir .. she's awesome! http://www.wenham.ca/temp2.htm
Oh, and one more picture as the kids are running out the door to go trick-or-treating at the mall (annual event). That's not dd's costume (she wants to be a "chocolate milk" but it's not finished yet) and I'm not sure what happened to ds' hand!
Thanks!!! I'm sure theywill be even better tomorrow .. it will be interesting to see what the other groups that weren't at the dress rehearsal will do. Hopefully it won't be too, too long!Kayel, they are both absolutely adorable! :)(I even watched the video clips....lol)
They did wonderful!
Hey, Fun2, can you tell me what DCCCD stands for? I see that post title all the time and the thread is huge but looking at the first few posts I can't tell what/where it is. TIA
lol..... It stands for Dallas County Community College District. (Dallas, Texas)
El Centro has had its nursing program since 1978 and has a very high reputation in the area. It's satallite school is North Lake, which is another DCCCD campus. It used to be Brookhaven, but that campus has its own program now with different criteria, and has already won awards. So, all together, the DCCCD nursing programs are very, very, good and very, very, tough to get into.
Ahhhhhhhh I see! LOL .. so it's where a lot of people want to get in so that explains the big thread. How many students are accepted per semester? My school is smaller and the BN/BSN program has been developed from a larger campus/larger city in fairly recent years, although they have had other nursing programs for a long time. Yes, I am in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex in Texas. :)
This year 100 were accepted....50 at El Centro, 50 at North Lake.
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this thread but I'm currently taking A&P I also. I just got my lab exam on bones, tissues, and hair back and I passed with a 103!I was so relieved and happy. It raised my grade all the way to a 85 when I was just a borderline B two weeks ago. Two weeks ago I didn't think I could even get a 70 on the lab exam and I probably got the highest grade in my class. So just because you aren't getting something now,you shouldn't give up hope.I just wanted to share that with everyone.
Talk to you guys later!

I am going to get at my studying again after my kids' choir dress rehearsal. It's their first time in choir (our oldest dd was in it until last year and she graduated). Our little ds is the smallest one in the choir so he's going to be so cute and get lots of attention, I'm sure (not sure he'll like that).
How are you going about memorizing your muscles? I like going through the A&P colouring book first with them all .. it seems to be laid out a little more understandably for me than our lab manual. Let me know if you have any great ideas/tips! Have a good one!
