Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I'm seriously freaking out! My transcript, TEAS scores, and supporting statement is listed on my to-do list. I sent in my transcript in early January! I also sent my supporting statement along with my application, so I have no idea how that could be missing. I also have no clue as to how to send my TEAS scores. I took it through ATI, under UTMB applicants only. Is there an option to send the scores that I don't know about? Or do I have to physically print out a copy and mail it? I could have sworn that they would send the scores automatically :/ Please help!
I am in the same boat. I have spent the past week verifing that my transcrpts were sent. I called TEAS and they looked up my info and stated UTMB knows how to grab the scores out of the system, there is nothing for me to do. I will wait til next week to call or email.
I am a first semester nursing student (started Spring 2011) at UTMB. I was in your shoes just a few months ago, and would be happy to help answer any questions you may have about your upcoming nursing education at UTMB.
If you are on the fence about UTMB, let me just say that I am THRILLED to be here. The program is set up for student success and the faculty TRULY want you to succeed.

In your to do list, are your transcript listed "unofficial transcript"? Our transcripts are supposed to be sent by the institution we attended directly. You can call enrollment services and check with them.

I was finally able to log in today, after being told about 6 times yesterday that UTMB had NO RECORD of me what-so-ever. Nothing. Only my payment had cleared the bank, and my schools verified that transcripts were sent. Not sure where the glitch was, but I was rather upset. All gravy today - I have a pretty green check beside completed application. Now just to sit, wait & pray :)
Thanks..I was freaking out cause I don't remember that page. Just got off the phone with enrollment services and they said we don't need to send it in. With only 5 days left till the deadline, I'm going to call again tomorrow and double check
