UTMB Fall 2011 Applicants

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!

I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! :eek: I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....

A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? :uhoh3: What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?

Hey everybody. Just want to wish everyone luck with their applications as the deadline is coming to a close. Interview emails will be upon us before we know it :)

btw, dmshopfull, i have only heard that the average gpas are around 3.3-3.4. i'm not exactly sure about teas scores.

a 75%-80% is considered a competitive score

Thanks for that info - I feel a bit better about my score now! I was thinking it was pretty awful. Guess not.

Does anybody my star account still show incomplete application(even if you submitted all the documents)?

Yes, my TEAS results still have not shown up on my application as complete! I don't understand why when I've sent them a second time just in case.

I called enrollment services, they said they have everything. I guess we need to wait until they change the application status.

Okay, thank you dsds138! :) I guess I shouldn't worry too much then. I wonder when the interview emails will be sent out?

I finally sent everything in...just under the wire! ;) I wasn't satisfied with my original personal statement, but inspiration struck over the weekend, and I think it turned out pretty stellar!

Feeling kind of nervous about it all since I don't have any Mystar info yet, and it's all so last minute, but I figure I've sent and ordered everything before the 15th, so---it should all be okay. Now the waiting begins!

They told me just make sure you have proof the transcripts were sent on time. They are behind with the new system.

That's really helpful, thank you for sharing that info! :yeah: And that's what I figured; I tried calling earlier today to confirm, but of course it's hard to get through right now. They must be getting hundreds of calls!
