Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
what is e-connect? are you talking about the mystar (https://mystar.utmb.edu)? it appears that they are just now going through transcripts. it has been about 4 weeks since i had access and it just updated one transcript yesterday.
I had not seen the e-connect before. They just sent me the MyStar link and info. The MyStar must be the new System as it shows more of my info.
See that's what I had thought. MyStar was the new system. I have the MyStar but it's a completely blank page. When I called they gave me the E-connect and it shows some of my transcripts... which is what I was trying to track.
They may still be trying to merge the two...who knows...lol...
In MyStar it took a while to show up but under "student" tab, applications, 'to do list' it now has my transcripts listed showing which ones they have processed, if they received teas score, and supporting statement receipt.
What a relief - I finally took the TEAS yesterday, and I'm so glad to have it out of the way!! Now I'm just going to sit and wait, and worry, since I've submitted everything so late. I hope they got all of my transcripts. I've tried to call and ask, but was told to wait for MyStar. :-/

Okay...now I'm worried, because I haven't submitted anything yet. I've been working on my personal statement/essays, which I just finished...how far in advance do we have to do all this stuff?? Do they need to have everything BEFORE the 15th or does it just need to be sent by then? I should still be able to submit it all by then (electronic transcripts) but just checking. They should already have my TEAS...sent it when I took it in Dec.
I would think you're fine Chaos, but I just worry - because if I had good luck, I certainly wouldn't know what to do with it. My past schools don't offer E-transcripts, so I'm just having to follow through and make sure everything is where it needs to be. I just sent my signature page this morning - and submitted my app last night. I don't recall hearing if UTMB was on the school closing list today. Probably so.
For the TEAS, do we need to send in our results, or does the school get it automatically??
I applied 12/27. I sent an email checking on my documents on 02/01. They answered quickly that they had not received anything! I have spent the last few days trying to contact schools and Teas during this storm. The ones I can get ahold of have sent in the docs, so things must be sitting in a stack at UTMB, I hope.
For those of you who can log-in, how long after you sent your app did it take to be able to use the log in? I tried the log-in/pw combo mentioned earlier, but still can't get on.
