UTMB Fall 2011 Applicants

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!

I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! :eek: I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....

A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? :uhoh3: What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?

I emailed enrollment services and they replied that it will take 2-3 wks after submitting the application that I will receive some sort of login information for a student portal (mystar maybe???) to monitor the receipt of my documents.

They were really quick to reply, I just hope it takes 1wk as opposed to 2-3 like they said.

I'm finally ready to submit my application, and was wondering about the option to upload documents at the end. What, if anything, would they be looking for??

I think the upload file option came at the end after the screen where you could type it in. I just put "see attached file" in that box and sent in a word doc.

You mean you sent your essay as a word doc?

yes you can attach a file to the application when you submit it

I have received the mystar login information but there is NOTHING there. Just a blank page. Reading previous threads and utmb's web page they use E-Connect for tracking information. Do you guys have that log in information already?

K...I got my E-connect log in information today, I wonder why they have two systems...hmmm...oh well....either way all we can do is Wait...lol

How did you format it? Did you have a header or anything? I noticed that it said your name needed to be included. Wasn't sure the best way!

i never recieved an econnect account so what did you guys do to receive one?

I called today and they told me to use my SS as my ID and your pin is the last two digits of your birth year, followed by the first two digits of your birth month. Ex. Born February 1, 2011: 1102

Let me know if that works, I may have confused it...lol....

On E-Connect I can see what transcripts they have received. Let me add...I just applied so they really haven't processed my application. So some information is not updated. They told me it would take @ 3 wks from applying before my E-connect would be fully up to date.

what is e-connect? are you talking about the mystar (https://mystar.utmb.edu)? it appears that they are just now going through transcripts. it has been about 4 weeks since i had access and it just updated one transcript yesterday.
