Where in Arlington will the new stadium be located as I am househunting and DO NOT want to live in the path of that place and what it will bring. I went on the website and found no info I could use. Thanx.

It's on the east side of Collins, just south of I-30.

Just west of the Rangers ballpark.

And it's a mammoth!!!!!

As a current Arlington resident, I'd advise looking in South (south of I-20) or West Arlington (west of Bowen). Those are the nice parts of the city and you'll avoid the stadium traffic that way.

If you want to avoid the new stadium, live south of Interstate 20, preferably in close proximity to Tarrant County College southeast campus. This part of the city has plenty of beautiful suburbs, shopping, easy freeway access, schools, and so forth. West Arlington, off Bowen and Pioneer, is also nice.

Look in areas with the following zip codes: 76017, 76001, 76012, 76013, 76016, 76018, and 76002. These areas are pretty much away from all of the traffic over there. Avoid 76010, 76011, and 76014 because of the stadium and crime. There are a few other areas in North Arlington, but I'm not very familiar with them. The ones I suggested are in South Arlington and nice residential areas in Central Arlington. Good luck with your search. :lol2:

i got myself lost over there recently and was just about to commit myself to the nearest psych hospital.... it is a madhouse!!!!

You guys never cease to amaze me with your responses. Then I have to remember that you all are nurses and Im not so amazed anymore:loveya::up:

I recommend Arlington South of I-20, Mansfield or Midlothian areas also!! I'd definitely stay away from the stadium too...it's already a bad area, and I'm sure it's only going to get worse!!

If you have children, Mansfield ISD is better than AISD, but check out the neighborhoods and schools first. FYI, some S. Arlington homes are in the MISD boundaries.

I agree with the others...south of I-20. With the Rangers, Cowboys, UTA, Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor in central Arlington, it can be a nightmare.

Stay away from Cooper and Collins just south of I30. I disagree with the Mansfield school being better than Arlington schools. Mansfield schools are PACKED to the gills so I guess if you like huge overcrowded schools with trailers for your kids classroom, then you will be fine. Arlington has some schools that definitely you need to avoid (in general, anything east of Fielder Road) but there are GREAT neighborhood schools with good ratings, solid neighborhoods and no worries of your kid being put in a temporary trailer. The Pantego area is particularly nice with housing prices of 120-500K so you can totally find your price range within one area. Hill, Butler and Duff are great elementary schools. North Arlington and the Pantego area are more "gentrified" areas of town with older homes, more solid neighborhoods and TREES! Woodland West and the Shady Valley area are really nice "Mayberryesque" places to live. True, there are a few neighborhoods/streets in the area that are kind of icky....but you will find that in south arlington as well.

I would avoid south arlington like the plague. Call me a North Arlington snob, but we lived down (south of I20) there for years and the neighborhoods are deteriorating and the traffic by the mall and restaurant row area a is a nightmare. It will be a mess getting to your home after 4 pm if you live off of I20 and depend on either Cooper street or Matlock to get to your home....literally taking 20-30 minutes to travel 10 miles.

I live about 15 minutes from UTA in a golf course community with top ranked schools and a pocket neighborhood that includes a library, great city pool and rec center within walking distance. There are FOUR classrooms for each grade and no trailers and the school has been top ranked for years. We have a lot of diversity and I like that my daughter attends school with kids whose family income ranges from poverty level to million dollar level.

I totally agree with carachel2 about the south Arlington area...I was a Realtor at Re/Max in Mansfield up until we moved about 2 months ago, and I would do everything (within the law of course) to sell other areas.

Generally speaking, avoid south of I-20....but SW Arlington (west of Cooper) has several great neighborhoods and feed into good Arlington and some Kennedale schools. But yes, you def want to avoid east of Cooper unless you're looking north of I-30.

You're welcome to PM me if you'd like to pick my brain or if you need to be put in touch with a Realtor!

We know so many people who are doing the "suburban flight" thing to Mansfield and I just do not see the draw. The schools are supposedly good schools, but they are so packed. I think a lot of people in this area equate bigger with better, but I'll take an older settled neighborhood any day over those monstrous Mcmansion developments in Mansfield. I think one main point is you should really live here for about 3-5 months to get the lay of the land. Get a feel for traffic and really explore the feel of different neighborhoods. Glad to know a realtor agrees with me! It took us years to get the feel (we are not from here) of this city and to really understand what we wanted from our town. We can go for weeks without going anywhere near S.Cooper and I'm proud of that!
