Roane State Nursing Students?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

I just joined this site in May, after I got my letter for NS. I was just wondering how many people out there are attending Roane State's Nursing Program?

Hey guys! I got my letter today. They said I didn't get in because I didn't take my pre-admission test and because I haven't taken college algebra. So, I have to call them no Monday because I have completed both of those things!? So, I guess I will see then.

Congrats to you guys that is awesome.

did you take college algebra this spring or in the fall? if you took it in the spring, it does not count towards your application. or maybe it had to do with the scores from the entrance test and college algebra? i hope you get everything sorted out! good luck!

Nope, I took it last Fall, and I passed my entrance exam with a really good score. I dunno where they got all this information mixed up. Im gonna call them. I already got into LMU, so Im not that worried about it.

CONGRATS!!!i got mine yesterday! i'm SO excited!!!

Wooohooo! Congrats to you, too! Are you bringing anyone to that meeting on the 14th?

FutureNurse, I sure hope you get everything worked out. RSCC was the only place I applied to and my worst fear was that they would miss something or overlook something I had already completed and they'd turn me down - I'd heard of this happening before. It's great that you got into LMU, though. My aunt actually graduated from there yesterday with her BSN.

Congrats to all of you!!! I look forward to reading your posts so I know what to look forward to next year!!!

Hey it's me, the OP. Just wanted to say welcome to the newbies and I'm helping with Orientation on the 14th, so I'll see you there...and tell everyone you know to bring some money, we 2nd years have 2 cool T-shirts for you all to place an order for and medical supplies to buy too! We are selling them to raise money for our pinning and graduation next Spring...please help us and yourselves! Also, feel free to pick our brains about school that's also why we are there!:D

Hey, hope everyone enjoyed orientation today, any questions just ask. The orientation in August will be busier and a little more fun! we should also get lunch at that one...see you there!:D

i got to look at the stethoscopes just briefly and did not order one at the orientation because i had no idea which on to get. does anyone have a preference on those scopes? i know i want a littmann.

I got the one that was right in the middle half way through second semester and it worked fine for me. I don't remember which one it is but it was black and had a single sided head. It might have been the S.E. You don't need a cardiac steth unless you know for sure you will be a cardio nurse. I do remember it was 79.00. It is too bad you didn't order from us, I got mine on my own and it was 136.00 and ours come with extra earpeices and the nametag which is 15.00 elsewhere, plus we have no tax. If you still want to order from us I can give you a name and number to call one of the officers, but you will need to be quick she was giving people who didn't bring cash 1 week from orientation to get a check to her. Let me know.:D

So, I've heard that at our 2nd orientation that they are going to give us 7 chapters to read over the weekend before classes start on monday. has anyone else heard this? or know what chapters/book it will be? i know i have to work all that weekend, so i'm kinda stressing.

haha. YaY for nursing school!

Hi! I have been a lurker for the past year but I decided to join today. I am a 1st year nursing student beginning in August 08. I will be taking my classes in Harriman. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I am very interested in any helpful advice from other students. One of the most important things I have learned is this will take "team work". We all need to work together to succeed.

Specializes in Emergency Dept, ICU.

I went 2 years ago and did fine, be careful though it's not easy and they spring surprise med tests on you quarterly.
