  1. My understanding is about $18 an hour plus shift diff. which is anywhere from 3-4 for nights and weekends.
  2. I had not finished all my pre-reqs. I had finished college algebra, comp I, A&P I, and development psych when I applied. However, I was enrolled in A&P II and the rest of the prereqs in the spring before the program started in August. Also, make sure you take the math the first semester before you apply! I know that you absolutely have to have that before they'll accept you! Good luck to you!
  3. Hello! Sorry that no one has answered! I will be graduating from the nursing program this spring. I'll just tell you a little about myself. When I graduated high school my GPA was 3.75. I had taken advanced chemistry, biology honors, and advanced math. I went straight from high school into Roane State and completed my prerequisites for the nursing program (english, math, anatomy and phys). Make sure to do the BEST you can in your A&P classes and math! They accept about 150 out of 800+ applicants every year. It is hard to get into, but well worth it! You are also required to take a pre-entry test called the TEAS exam, I thought it was similar to the ACT, but with more A&P. When I entered the nursing program, I had a 3.6 GPA. I had made A's in everything except for A&P I and II. I made B's in those classes. It took some getting used to, but I've only been able to make B's in all my classes. Which, don't get me wrong, is a blessing! Some people struggle to make a 75 (lowest average you can have and pass a nursing course). But when you're used to making A's on everything, it comes as a shock when your best is a low B or even C. Now that I'm about to graduate my GPA is close to a 3.2. It is very intense. Especially for someone like me, who has had no medical background or experience. I am thankful to have survived it, and very proud to be graduating soon! Good luck to you! Let me know if you have any more questions!
  4. Thank you! There are all great!
  5. I'm doing a project on conflict and power for school. I was wondering what is the worst conflict you've had with a physician? What did you say? How did you handle it? What do you wish you could have done differently? Thanks!
  6. I am still in my first nursing course, fundamentals, but it is a whole semmester long, and I'm also taking pharmacology too. You are lucky you got two chances to take the pass/fail test! We only got one chance. My math exam was not too bad. My advice is to just know the equalencies...like 1 oz=30 mL, 60kg=1grain, 1kg=2.2lbs and things like that. Also, just memorize the formulas and really read the questions and make sure you know what they are asking! Good luck to you!
  7. Help me too! I have no idea how I'm supposed to know all of those!
  8. For anyone that is a second year...has anyone ever had Professor Brown for clinicals? She is at the Magnolia campus and I have her for clinicals. I've never met her, so I'm not sure what to expect.
  9. I am nervous. I am afraid that there won't be enough hours in the day to do all of the studying. And only 3 quizzes and a final? Oh...what if I bomb one? That makes me nervous too. I would love to have a cd too because I think I would retain more if I can interact with it. Hopefully there will be some who just don't want their cds!
  10. I am most definitely irritated too. I am going to call the bookstore next week and see if they have any of the packages left and ask if I can just buy the cd. I really got my hopes up when someone said that they had them at Oak Ridge. Maybe someone could email the Dean about it. Hopefully she would be understanding about it and maybe let us get some. I thought that the demonstration of it was misleading when she said that anyone could access it online, but I think that just means anyone that already has the cd.
  11. my mom called and needed me to come get her...something messed up with her car and triple A wasn't going to be there for a while. i will be sure to look over everything that she puts on momentum! but we really need to be a in a study group together!
  12. haha. yes. thats a little scary. wait...does your name start with a "B"?
  13. i live in lenoir city and i would love to be in a study group! i have a friend to lives in loudon who i know would like to join too! that would be awesome! what campus are you taking classes?
  14. So, I've heard that at our 2nd orientation that they are going to give us 7 chapters to read over the weekend before classes start on monday. has anyone else heard this? or know what chapters/book it will be? i know i have to work all that weekend, so i'm kinda stressing. haha. YaY for nursing school!
  15. I am going to the harriman campus for the 1st semester, I will see how i like it there. I might go to knox or oak ridge for other semesters, but it all depends.
