Roane State Nursing Students?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

I just joined this site in May, after I got my letter for NS. I was just wondering how many people out there are attending Roane State's Nursing Program?

Your welcome! I wish I had known someone before I started, it sure would have helped!:lol2:

Hey everyone!! I am a pre-nursing student at Roane State...Oak Ridge and Loudon campus this semester...I'm doing micro and speech. Thought micro might carry a bit of a lighter load...but am finding out really quick that is not the case. It's really cool to find other Roane Staters!! I just signed up tonight, and don't really know how to use everything yet, so please bear with me. I talked to my advisor today and have felt like the world is going to end...I am 37, wife & mom, and have a 3.75 gpa currently...(one stupid B!!)...but now am sweating bullets knowing that only 160 out of 800+ applicants will be accepted!! Anyway, enough of my woe's. It's really nice to know you guys are there.

what classes are you taking in loudon? cause i'm going there. yeah, i'm pretty stressed about this being accepted into nursing school thing too. :(

Did you start at Roane yet, I also live in Maryville and work full time. I have been looking everywhere for a school that will meet my schedule? The only one is South College which is very expensive and the pass rate on the exam is 69% for 2006. I am not sure what or where to start? Maybe pre-reqs at Maryville college?

maryville college is expensive because its private. if you want to go to roane state for nursing, they have a 2 knoxville campuses (which are only for nursing/health science classes), but im not sure what all the times are for classes. try pellisippi for your prereqs cause its not very expensive and there's a maryville campus. good luck!

I decided to take the pre-reqs at Roane State, classes in Maryville. I already have a Bachelors in Accounting so i only need 3 classes before I start my clinicals!!!! Anybody going to Blount City Building for Roane? I guess I should add, I am 38 married, an 18 yr old. Just moved here about a year ago, love it!

there's a roane state campus in maryville?

What campus? I am loving all the instructors at Oak Ridge so far, very helpful and supportive, but expecting our best effort at all times!

I was at the harriman campus. The only trouble I ever had was from the dean. Not much of a personality, but other than that it was great. I feel that I got a better education than some of the four year schools around. I had only one class in Oak Ridge and some in W.Knox. I didn't have to take fundamentals because I did LPN mobility but I did take pharm that spring with med-surg and OB. That was a very interesting semester!! Let me know if I can help with anything or if you have any questions. Three of the best professors left when we graduated but hopefully you got some good ones in there.

Just remember to have fun.

I made a mistake, I went to an office off Kingston pike and outside it said Roane, but when I went to talk to the advisor, she said it is LMU??? Anybody know there ratings, anybody attending that school in Blount County?

The Knoxville campus is off Kingston Pike, on Hayfield Rd, it goes between Kingston Pike and Crosspark. There is a road to the school off of it, like a long driveway, it puts the building in behind all the others. I believe there is also a branch of LMU and South College on that same street. Call 865-539-6904, that is the Knoxville branch #, they can help you find the campus or maybe just answer questions over the phone.;)
