Hello!! I took a home therapies position with Fresenius in Sept and so far have not received any kind of raise I was told that it is a lateral position. I made alot more money when I worked acutes and I loved it alot more. It can be a hassle if you are going to be on call 24/7 too because if you get called on sat and the pt needs to be seen and the clinic is open then there goes your saturday. That's how it works where I'm at anyway and I also do the PD program. There is alot of paperwork. Keeping up with the home epogen is also a big stress. I love doing the training though, if I could do just that I would be happy. I have 3 children so I know what you are trying to accomplish with your schedule, I was hoping to have a "normal" schedule too. Good luck with whatever you do!!

It seems that our experiences have been almost the same DeLana. I was an LPN in the chronic clinics before I went back to rn school. When I graduated RN I went back to work in a hospital working in their dialysis unit. I absolutely love it there!!! In the clinics I felt like a production worker but now I have more time to get to know my patients. There are only three other people that work there and that's it. No PCT's although when I worked in the clinic I loved the tech's. Our unit can hold 3 pt's at a time and we usually have 2 to 3 nurses there. It's great. Only problem is that when you are done you go home and sometimes that's at noon. We also do pheresis, do you? After some experience in the chronic units I would advise anybody to go to the acute setting. It's great!

Brendadoug, Starting fall 2008 there will be an online associates degree offered thru RODP. There is not much info on the website yet but it seems promising. Maybe a good option for you with your work schedule. Go to www.rodp.org and just keep watching the site for info. Amanda

I was at the harriman campus. The only trouble I ever had was from the dean. Not much of a personality, but other than that it was great. I feel that I got a better education than some of the four year schools around. I had only one class in Oak Ridge and some in W.Knox. I didn't have to take fundamentals because I did LPN mobility but I did take pharm that spring with med-surg and OB. That was a very interesting semester!! Let me know if I can help with anything or if you have any questions. Three of the best professors left when we graduated but hopefully you got some good ones in there. Just remember to have fun.

Thanks for the clarification. I really do want to do deliveries. I'm going to try to go see the film, I looked it up on the website and it looks great. Do you know anything about Frontier school? I have been looking at it for years and now I am in the position where I can apply. Thanks again!!

I am trying to decide which program I should do, CNM or WHNP. I am very seriously considering the bridge program at Frontier School but I haven't decided which specialty yet. Could someone tell me the difference between the two? Has anyone completed the bridge at frontier? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks:thankya:
