Well guys I was reading other post and one member.. Put on here a website called find your spot... http://www.findyourspot.com So of course I checked this out seeing that i am wanting to move once i get my license.. I was wanting to go to Corpus Christi, TX; Wilmington Beach, NC; Myrtle Beach, SC; or Miami Beach, FL...

But it seems as none of these are my calling.. . Out of all 50 states it seems that my calling is Lousiana or Maryland... Seems interesting considering alot of you all are from these places....

So what im wanting to know is do you all enjoy these places?

anyone?

You didn't say what characteristics you're looking for in the place that you'd like to move to. Only, I agree with you to cross Miami Beach off your list. I've been down there a few times. Very nice beaches and restaurants, but the place is VERY expensive, awfully crowded, extremely pretentious people (very LA... in that look-at-me-I'm-too-goodlooking-to-talk-to-you kind of way), and things get really wild down there when the party people come out at nights. Everybody has implants and bleached teeth :uhoh21: and its pretty much a 24-hour MTV music video:).

There are other nicer places in south Florida if its the beach and the warm weather that you're looking for, and although some people say the wages in south FL are the lowest in the country thats not true at all.

How are things in Tennessee? We visited a friend there last year. Very beautiful state:).

FL is actually the lowest place on my totem pole.... Im really looking towards NC... Im probably not going anywhere in the next couple of weeks,,

Tennessee is ok.. its been kinda muggy here

Thank you for the link, Dave. :)

This was a cool little test. And of course it reinforced my reasons for moving back home (Kingsport, Tn) It was one of the first on my list. I am now in Florida, although I am in the panhandle (Pensacola). I like it here ok but the pay is lower than anyplace I have ever worked (It definately ain't south Fl) and I am really tired of all the storms (I shudder to say the "h" word) I am putting my house back together :crying2: (Thank you, Ivan) and I am packing it in to skip back home.

I saw that you are from Kingsport. My husband and I live in Dallas (but are from MS and La) and are looking at the area as a place to move in the next year. Anything you could tell us about it would be great....esp pay rates and anything about the hospitals there and in Johnson City.

Thanks in advance!

Hey! You all are making me homesick... I grew up in Kingsport my whole life till just this year. I miss it sometimes. Knoxville's just not the same- then so many people here (including the newspaper) think Kingsport is the same place as Kingston, and are also surprised to learn that "home" for me is a 100-mile drive northeast from here but is STILL in Tennessee!! :) Anyway... sorry to get OT. But I do know Kingsport pretty well if you need any more info.

hi, guys1 another lifetime kingsport resident here !

Corpus Christi,

Not much of the population speaks english there. It makes taking care of them as pts very difficult.

Howdy! I live in Clarksville. Tn. I worked at St Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Great place to work...just too labor intensive for me now that I'm getting up in the years. You'll not find a friendlier place to live than Clarksville or the surrounding area and I have lived quite a few places in the past. St Thomas is a great place to work, has great patient/nurse ratio's. Most of the ppl there are straight up and go out of there way to make you feel like part of the caregiving family. Call Jan Holder, she is the nurse manager for the float pool in which there are full time positions, if you need the bennies, or prn positions of all kinds. The pay is competitive with the surrounding hospitals and btw there are 4 hospitals in Nashville. You may find Nashville a bit expensive, but if you live outside of Nashville, like Clarksville or Ashland City or someplace like that, its significantly cheaper, and very very pretty in most areas.

Call Jan and tell her Wendy sent you, 615 222 6624 (staffing office) I don't work there anymore due to birth defect in upper back and age has gotten me...sigh...but I used to for almost 12 yrs and rec it highly!

NC is alright, but the pay rates are not all that high.

I lived there for about 8 years.

Probably before you take boards, you should decide where you want to live- that way you wont pay to take boards and then fork over another 100.00 or more to get your new license endorsed by the state you move to.
