... and I'm certain that I CANNOT wait for this year to be over. Nothing specific, nothing major, I just feel done!

Hi everyone!
Back with more questions. I'm sorry. There is a district nurse that is supposed to be around to help and hasn't called me. We scheduled a call for yesterday again and still no call. (
Do all of you do the screenings for vision, BMI and scoliosis? Do you schedule it all at once (vision one day, BMI another, etc. same time every year)? Do you do the actual screenings or get someone in to do them?
Thanks!

That sucks that the other person is not responding to you
I do vision and hearing but I am certified to do the screenings (in IL you have to be certified). My district does not do BMI or scoliosis (actually, I'm not sure on the scoliosis... wouldn't that be at the elementary level? I've never worked at an elementary school)

15 school days until Spring break and 70 days until my due date (a few more until the end of the year, but those don't matter much to me). I hoping I can hang in there until Spring break, but ugh, I'm so over it!

Our Spring Break was last week and it hit me all over again what a great choice I made with taking this school nurse position. Cannot beat this amazing schedule

47 working days for me. Usually this time between spring break and the start of Kinder registration is super SLOW for me - I really don't have extra things to do and just hang in my office treating kids. Things will pick back up in a couple of weeks when Kindergarten Registration starts and in May when I spend some time getting ready for the next school year.

54 days left for me! Can't wait!
The only screening we do in my district is hearing and vision and I, along with my health aide, do them all. This year she did hearing in the fall and I did the rescreens and then we did vision together this spring and I did the rescreens. Next year we're planning on doing both vision and hearing together in the fall. She'll do hearing and I'll do vision and then I'll do all the rescreens.

I am so tired of all of the drama over every tiny scratch!!! I am not even talking about the kids either!!! My SPED department drives me INSANE. They are with non-verbal autistic kids who indeed bite and scratch. Everything is always superficial but they ACT LIKE THEY ARE GOING TO DIE!! then, they seem to want me to clean and band-aid their "wounds." I will help if it is in a weird location, but if it is not - you can put it on yourself. I feel like they need to pull up their big girls panties and realize that it is part of the job. Heck, I got bit by one of their kids last year. It was 2 hours before I had time to even look in the mirror at it (on my shoulder.) I just thought to myself, oh look it is bruised. I cleaned it and moved on. I did not need to take an hour break to compose myself and ice it every 27 minutes.
