I'm going to scream if this happens one more time during my screenings-

Me: Do you wear glasses or contacts?"

Student: No.

-Do the vision screening, 20/50 bilaterally.

Me: Have you ever been to the eye doctor?

Student: Yeah. I went 2 months ago. I got glasses.

Me: And where are your glasses?

Student: With my clothes (they were dressed out for PE).

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

What part of "Do you wear glasses or contacts?" doesn't make sense??? :angryfire These are same kids (NINTH GRADE) who don't know which eye is their left.

i feel your pain !! how 'bout those fifth graders who don't know where their parents work. don't know their phone number. don't know their grandparents name (not nanna) !! what the heck !

aaaggggghhhhhhhh. I am screaming with you. Come on everybody....let it out!!!!!!!!

When I do vision screenings (7th graders) I must say "cover your other left eye" 100 times.

After 3 times of having "forgot" glasses, I send home a referral anyways. And their parents wonder why they don't do well in class with 20/70 in both eyes!

This happens all the time with kids or staff, but usually not teachers, who come in with a headache.

Idiot: Can I have something for a headache?

Me: (Placing two Tylenol in their hands)

Idiot: (Looking at the Tylenol in their hands) "Now" or "Both?"

Yeah- the not knowing left or right scares me. These are ninth graders. This is our future, and they don't know which side is which. LOL

You can make a L with your left hand. Most of you write with your right hand. I remember learning this in third grade (so I would remember which side I got my allergy shots on), and I thought that was late.
