I received my RN license 30 days ago. I have been working with my current job for 2.5 years. They knew when I started the program, when I finished, and when I passed boards. I am still working as an LPN with the same pay. I have never been late to work. I turn in all my paper work before its due. I have never called out. I was told that I have to complete a 4 month orientation for my RN title. This is the same job I have been working for 2.5 years. Thankfully, I received a called for my dream job but not my dream hours. I took the job. It really felt great to tell my current company I was leaving in two weeks. WOO HOO :)!

So you are upset about orientation. What a big deal to attend classes and be paid for that? Evan relaxing.

congrats may you be blessed with great success in you new posistion
Steve123, I am not even allowed to call myself an RN with this company. I am out working and patients are asking me my title, what would do I say? 4 months of being checked off to do vitals, foley's, IV's Fasting blood sugars, and paper work. All the same stuff I have done for 2.5 years and at less pay than I make now( this company pays less for orientation),until all this training is over. I don't think so. This company knew when I started school, when I graduated and when I took boards. My issue is why wasn't my orientation started weeks or months ago? Its been a month that I am still working as an LPN. It is not up to this company to decide whether I am worthy of being an RN. My state certification already states that I am.

it's a good thing when you can tell the ones who wanted you to fail to shove it...not sure they were that bad but still; employees who work to improve should be offered the opportunity to move up where they began.
^THIS...
OP, you did the right thing...the company was trying to get around raising your wages.
My previous company tried to do that...the gave me an "orientation", but it really wasn't one...the only "transition" was taking more patients-I already knew how to precept, and was on committees...months down the line, it was discussed that they owed me money for this...but-OH!! They don't have the money.
Instead of trying to cut corners, now they owe me 2 grand for that stunt.
I've already moved on from this position, but if they did what was right in the first place, they wouldn't owe me money and have me considering my legal options to get my money back...
Congrats to moving on to better things...and avoiding a headache as this!
