  1. Heres a quick background I moved to Montana to go to the state university, I will be paying out of state tuition. My pre reqs transferred accept Anatomy because I hadn't done phys. yet and they do A&P1/2. Im registered for Spring16 but I will need to come up with over 6K in loan debt to attend. Here the issue my bf will be providing for us but his job is weather dependent and the snow effects his hours. Bottom line he isnt making enough to pay rent and bills he could go elsewhere and probably make more but its not a sure thing. Originally we had it worked out but now its not. On top of that I have 4k in credit debt and 3500 in student loans. What would you do, Put school off for a year and get cheap tuition were talking 150% cheaper but be behind a whole school year. Work during that whole year and pay my credit card debt off. Try and study A&P by myself and complete an online stats course for a grand. or Be hopeful and possibly have the bf find a higher paying job (theres lots of job opportunities here) but still what he does is weather dependent. With this option I will go to school take A&P1/2 and get my cna. Then 6 months from now work as a cna while going to school I will probably accrue atleast 12000-14000 in tuition for the non resident year but then I will be able to apply next January to the nursing program. or if you have another perspective please share Im torn! Ive been praying a lot and I know I need to listen to God but I also need perspective from my peers. Thanks in advanced
  2. anatomy with accounting and intermediate algebra
  3. Hi statistically is this normal for anatomy? my college breaks anatomy and physiology up separately fyi. I cant believe the rate of fails I'm just curious if this is common for college anatomy
  4. Hi I just started anatomy two weeks ago I'm feeling hopeless. I've been studying everyday for at least 2 or more, these past few days its been at least 5 anyways my first exam on tissues and the integumentary system is tomorrow its not multiple choice or word bank maybe that is standard. Anyways I've studied in many different ways videos, flash cards, drawing charts, note taking, diagrams. However I feel overwhelmed! I feel as if its to much info to remember I'm trying to keep to a limit of two locations and two functions to a tissue type but even at that there is so many sub types of tissue.
  5. yep, but it counts as institutional credit in cali so its useful when transfering to a university for your bsn
  6. I experienced a similar situation with bio101. It was completely overwhelming, I was scared I had struggled a lot at first too but I didnt let the mistakes define my grade and enjoyment of the class! This is what got me an A, first I prayed and then I followed through with action I made sure to study the lab material prior to class and studied the previous weeks material too I made sure to do the prelabs on time also. I even asked the instructor what it takes to be successful in her lab you should do the same. If you dont see something or understand always ask the instructor. Find away to apply biology to what you know and like. In lab if possible work in teams that way you complete the observations and experiments completely in case your required to as part of your grade or even just to finish sooner. if possible if you lab uses a lab manual see if theres a key available to assist you in what theyre looking for. Cheer up doll you can do it!!!
  7. blah ive been going to school for 3 years now!!! 9-10 creds a semester, man they ask a lot at my college for the adn program. i still have a&p, micro , and statistics!!!! rules are you cant take A&p together in a semester and my school just added statistics on the prereq list and eliminated some of the courses required that i already took ;( atleast the statistics will help me get transfer credit for cal state so much but not giving up
  8. thanks everyone, im gonna dabble in a bit of all your ideas and see which one i feel grabs me the most. its always helpful to get opinions gotta stay open minded. i did consider ebola and then diabetes but diabetes doesn't seem as complicated as other diseases
  9. normally schools make you take chem first
  10. Hi I'm looking to make the most out of a paper for my med. terms class that requires me to research any disease or condition of choice. I'd like ideas and especially ones that an rn encounters the most with patients if there really is such thing as a common disease to an rn. I appreciate all ideas maybe if you suggest something you find interesting it would help me out
  11. one name Jesus, say it out loud :) Praise him with your voice thats is one of the reasons you have one to speak blessings...I cant tell you exactly what to do because the Lord works in numerous ways which are greater than mine, but Im just sharing what he has shared with me and what has worked. Worship in spirit and you'll be automatically connected in prayer, when I pray it can sometimes need a jump start to shake me out of the flesh its almost like i have to pray to pray as silly as that sounds. sometimes i prep to pray by speaking blessing over the area that Im at declaring it a place set apart to give glory to God by words of praise and whatever comes out of my mouth directed by the spirit aslong as its flowing out of my mouth even as low as a whisper theres power. Theres power because just as God formed the earth that was previously void through words so is life and death in the power of the tounge by faith speak when its time to pray. Maybe try praying out loud against distractions ask to receive a clear mind Christ centered if its the Father's will it will be done God bless
  12. congrats may you be blessed with great success in you new posistion
  13. Seems as if your really meant to be a nurse if you have repeatedly gotten call backs from schools. What you need to do is take the idea that after all this time nursing is still calling you and run with it. Run with it away from the all thats opposing including finances schools will work with you and when its all said and done and you have your degrees eventually youll be a working rn. You have to set aside doubt because you are capable.
  14. I just finished my first year of prereqs AHHHH they're so many I just wanna be in nursing school already but I'm getting through alongside working full time by the grace of God!! So far I've finished Eng101 math 50 and 60 along with music and spanish for fun....my english class was tough my professor is an author the textbook was compiled by him unbelievable. And it's so crazy that theres prereqs for prereqs!!!!! I'm not aloud to just take A&P I have to take basic bio and chem101 first now I know Im supposed to be inspiring but my school is a bit ridiculous probably because its overcrowded but I'm on a steady path. My mind is focused on graduation in 2017 with adn to start my bsn aslong as I get accepted into the program right away. You gotta love community college. Anyways for fall I'm taking elem. algebra, socio101, and bio101 I'm so excited because I know I'm getting more closer to my calling the Lord deals with me faithfully and soon enough i'll be able to say I'm a real nursing student :) best of luck everyone we got this! :)
