What's the best book bag for Nursing School?

Me too! My Jantzen book bag is still going strong after three years, but I have heard we should invest in rolling book bags. yuk, but if it saves your back....

I use the Puma engineer backpack because it's comfortably padded, has room for my laptop, and has a front pocket for my textbooks and pens, calc, and other supplies. The inside also has little netted pouches for my laptop charger and snacks high up enough that my books don't crush them. If you like tons of pockets, though, it's probably not for you.

Im in the same boat as you and I have been researching for some time now. I still havent decided, but I know I will go with something that rolls. It may be "uncool" to have a rolling bag, but I dont care I really dont want to hurt my back carrying all that heavy weight. Im really liking the idea of a Zuca bag. It is a bag the ice skaters and makeup artists use for their equipment, but I have read several blogs and posts from nursing students who swear by them. They look super roomy and you can buy a lot of accessories for them to keep it all organized. You can Google them or even look on Youtube for videos of people doing reviews for them. What about using a kindle or something similar instead of actual books? Anyone out there do this?

A lot of textbooks have an e-book version for sale, or the e-book is available when you purchase the book. I tend to just bookmark those or download them to my laptop instead of lugging around the actual textbook.

The program I'm hoping to be accepted to is going with ebooks this year. I am hoping that it works out, I am thinking I would rather have a book to flip through but there is a certain convenience of having the books on my iPad too. We shall see... ;)

All the ebooks that I've seen are barely cheaper than renting or even buying the hard-copy. I used to rent or use ebooks, but I now buy all my textbooks as used hard-copies. You can usually resell your books for the original used price and make your money back. Ebooks usually have an expiration date, so you are essentially renting the book.

Also, most college bookstores also have a matching price policy. If you can find the textbook cheaper at some other place, the college bookstore will match the price. My uni does and I saved over $400 last semester!!!

I didn't know that about price matching! I got my Fundamentals book on half.com and saved fifty bucks over the bookstore price. I will ask the bookstore about that!

Lots of girls at the University that I'll start in August got rolling bags from the local arts and craft store (hobby lobby or michaels) those are the stores here in Texas. Anyway they are cute & they have lots of compartments since they are like craft carriers. This one is just an example:
