Hello, we had a question on our test today and a lot of us are split on it. The question was: Which is a sign of Ineffective Airway Clearance? A: Green Thick Mucus B. Dry, Nonproductive cough I chose B, Because If a cough is non-productive it is not expelling the mucus as it should. Green thick mucus means you are expelling the mucus therefore your airway would be clear. What would you choose?

I've already went to the instructors and we do realize this is not high school. Mind you this is the same class taught by the same teachers that had to curve their grades last year in order for students to pass. But thanks for your input.

Hello Everyone! Okay so my first test for Geriatrics was a couple weeks ago and I failed it. Not only did I fail it but most of the class did too. The mean of the test was a 38 out of 50. You need a 40 to pass. I was 2 questions away from passing. I felt so discouraged after this and felt like giving up on nursing, only because I studied so hard for that test. Then we had a quiz, the mean for that was an 11 out of 15. You needed a 12 to pass. Everyone thought the quiz was hard, but the teachers thought that it was easy.They told us not to long ago that the next test was going to be hard. Now if we thought the quiz was hard, I can only imagine what the test is going to be like! I have went to the teachers and asked, "where do they pull their questions from ?", they told me from a "Test Bank". I have made care plans, and included meds. I even purchased a care plan book and did the assigned readings. Is there any other way I can study for this class?

Hello everyone, hope all is well. I have never felt so low in my life. I feel like giving up on nursing. I completed my first semester and Made the deans list. I studied so hard for this test as well as my stats test and failed both. I can't get over this. Yesterday I couldn't eat anything I was nauseated and stared to vomit. I just couldn't handle 2 bad grades in one day, now my test for Mental health is Tuesday and I have lost all hope.........

Hello Everybody! Hope all is well! Today I found out I failed my First Nursing Exam by only 1 Question! And the questions I missed I seconded guessed myself on.I also got all the NCLEX questions right. I feel sorta like giving up But I know God didn't put me through the program if he didn't think I could make it. Any advice on test taking and also any words of encouragement? Thanks! The same place I got my test last year is the same place I went today so they have it on file.

Okay I Just remembered I got a TB test last June or July. I was wondering, do they use the same agent for 1 steps and 2 steps? Because I got the first injection today for the 2 step but I found out I only need the one step. Thanks!

Hello Everyone!!!! Hope all is well! I applied this summer to a BSN Nursing Program. I have been there for the past year. I have a 3.5 G.P.A In my Math & Science classes and a 3.4 in my other pre-req (Nothing below a B on Transcript). For entrance they go by a point system and you can get up to 50 points. I did the math and it says I would have33- 35.5 points but I have withdrew from 2 science courses at a different school and 1 from My current school which costed me 9 points (3 points for each retake) . So now I only have 26.5 points. I sent in a letter explaining why I doped the Chemistry and Micro. I dropped the Chemistry because My current school was debating to accept it or not at the time, it took them a year to approve it and when they did I retook it. When I transferred in the fall of last year I was taking 12-14 credit hours and I had to drop micro because of a family member becoming ill and I was the only one who could take care of them at the time. Once again all of that was put in my letter of explanation . I sent in also letters of recommendations, even one from a hospital chief of staff. So do you think I have a chance of getting in? Thanks! Note: The committee decides if the 3 points will be deducted depending on the reason. All withdraws are considered retakes.
