Waiting for letter of acceptance!!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello all....I'm new here and am wondering if there's anyone else out there going crazy while waiting to find out if they've been accepted to a nursing program? I live in Michigan and have applied to Macomb Community College and the cut off for applications was Feb. 15. Not supposed to hear anything for about 1 1/2 - 2 months. In the meantime I am taking A&P, so between that and my two little ones I do keep busy. Our college accepts 120 students with 4 start dates: Aug., Oct., Jan., and March. Last year I believe that over 1000 people applied so it is very competitive, as I'm sure it is everywhere. I'm just so anxious and excited to get started. I'm 33 yrs. old, a wife and mother of two. This is something I have wanted to do since graduating from high school and I am so thankful that I now have the opportunity to go for it!!!!

I'm INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

Just got my letter yesterday. When I saw the big envelope I just knew it. All I had to read was "congratulations" and I started jumping all over the house, running up and down the stairs.... my dog thought I had lost it. lol. Anyway, I start August 2005. Still waiting on the letter from another school I applied to so I can choose. Thank God for everything. You guys will be fine...

Hey congrats youknowho!!

I also live in San Jose and am waiting to hear back from 6 schools! What accelerated program did you get into? Was it Samuell Merritt? I did not apply there but my friend did and I am dying to find out if she got in.

Again congratulations!!

Its at SJSU. I also applied to Evergreen but they said that they dont send letters until late MAy. What schools are you waiting on??

Wow, that is great! I heard something about SJSU starting a new accelerated program, but that it was extremely competitive. You must have great stats!

I have applied everywhere, just to try and increase my chances. I am still waiting to hear from EVC, Ohlone, Chabot, Merritt College (JC), Cabrillo and Hayward state. I am not going to apply to SJSU because I still need to take speech (I took interpersonal comm instead). I have decided to go the JC route anyway. I also already have a degree and plan to start working on a master's degree once I get my license. I love SJSU though. That is where I got my first degree. I was also a grad student in their NUFS program, until I realized that nursing is my true passion.

Anyway I wish you the best of luck and am so happy for you! :)

Congratulations to you all!!! I know you all are so happy and relieved. I am supposed to find out if I get into my program by June 30th...I cannot wait!

I made it!!! I'M IN!!! I am so so happy. Happiest person you could ever imagine. Not in University of Manitoba because they only take Manitoba Residents (I'm from British Columbia) but in Trinity Western University. Goodluck to all that is still waiting.

Hello Jenn, I read your post just wanted to say hello and good luck to you. I am also from Michigan attending Henry ford In Dearborn. I am a mother of two also. I am trying to finish these last classes this summer in order to get my name on the waiting list, which that is how they do it at HFCC, your name goes on the waiting list and they accept people in the fall and winter. I will probably in your spot anxous next summer. That is my goal and plan I want to start in Sept of 07, by then I will have all pre-req's done. Any idea's on how you are going to do it. Are you going to work while in school. I am not even near nursing school and already trying to plan everything out. Well I hope you receive the letter soon. I also may apply to Macomb
