Summer school anyone?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey guys!!!!

well for all of us pre nursing students...anyone taking classes during the summer or doing anything exciting?

For me, I am taking philosophy: logic

and

Intro to psychology:yawn:

meh talk about a very BORING 6-week summer...

and the topper? I have class at 8 am! ARGH, not the way I wanted to start summer. And no, there is no other class being offered, so I need this logic class for the BSN program I am applying for this Oct!

After class gets out (around early August) I have like 3 weeks off until regular semester starts...blah, I will probably be working fulltime...

As for extra-curricular activities? Besides working the weekends, I will be either looking for a HC job or volunteering.

What about everyone else!?!?!?

I'm taking A&P 1 & 2 this summer. very compressed 5 weeks per class. first lecture and lab test is this week. I'm hoping to do well on the first test since it's basic bio and chemistry information and i am heavily relying on learnings as a bio major to get me through. I'm still studying like no man's business because it is a lot of info!

add working 40 hrs a week to that! i'm beat by the time i get home around 9:45pm

i am finishing up sociology, should have been working on my paper tonight, tomorrow definitely. done with that On July 10th and I am starting Nutrition online on July 5th. very nervous as it is my first online class at a new school. sociology is in person. has been fun and not too hard so far. fall taking 2 online classes plus working 55 hours per week, plus 2 five year olds, crossing fingers, i am out of my mind. thinking of starting a CNA course on the weekends soon also.

Six days to go, then 50 days off until Fall semester. I have been spending almost all of my free time doing school work.

I just finished taking Algebra last week (five week class). It was brutal! Four days a week, for three hours a day and anywhere from 2-4 hours of studying/homework each night! Not to mention a "quiz" every single day! Took my final last Wednesday and ended up with a B+ in the class (REALLY good for me in Math). I was a little bummed about missing the A by 2 points! Oh well... I'll take my B+ and run! Glad it's over!

Finished A & P I with an A!

I hope to survive the rest of this Chem and A & P II. I'm out of my drag from the last minimester.

I'm currently taking Human Development and Applied Clinical Math this summer. Then in the fall, A&P II and Tech Writing, then just Microbiology left, so I should be going into clinicals in fall 2012.

I'm a little late hopping on the bandwagon here, but I'm SWAMPED this summer... I'm trying to get into the local community college in January. They only accept 60 people per year- 30 in the fall semester and 30 in the spring semester. We have a weighted admissions system that pretty much forces you to ace all three of the biology courses to even think about being a competitive applicant. That being said, I'm taking this summer (10 week courses, normal semesters are 14 weeks):

Anatomy and Physiology II

Microbiology

Medical Terminology

Statistics

and I feel like I have NO life whatsoever. So far my lowest grade has been a low B though, so I'm trying to push on through! Is anyone else doing a crazy semester like this (summer, fall, whenever)?

Oh, forgot to mention that I have a 1 year old daughter and my husband works full time. That complicates things :p

Not going to summer school. The Bio class I needed had 71 people trying to add (including me) and only 9 open spots. :crying2:

happy to report that i did well on my first lecture and lab exam for A&P 1. my goal was to do very well on the first tests because it gets harder after that! good luck everyone!

Good luck with everything (:

I'm just having a rest and relaxing before university. I have some university induction days that I have to attend and I have to do some research on first aid - but that's a piece of cake for me, because I took a first aid in school. I'm just so exicted for uni!
