  1. What are you all doing on your units for fall prevention? Aside from fall risk wristbands, mag and bed alarms, alerts posted on the doors, fall risk scores, sitters, patients sitting at the nurses station and education - any other ideas?
  2. Yay! I just hit submit on my last clinical assignment for this semester. Hooray!
  3. To class you can. To clinical only the white top and green pants :) But, ALL have to be landau brand.
  4. Oh, and rereading your original question - Landau is what they make you wear for classroom too. Except during classroom, you can have the green top and green pants. During clinical, you can ONLY wear the white top with the patches they have you buy there at the bookstore.
  5. LOL, I felt the same way. They were very helpful there at A&H. And for your shoes, just be careful there's no mesh on the top. Should be leather only. You don't want any fluids coming through onto your sock, or drop a needle and have it go through
  6. I purchased mine at A&H. You basically walk in there and tell them you're from Del Tech. They've got them set to the side. Don't quote me, but I'd say the tops were like $15 and the pants around $20ish? They sell shoes there too - you can wear sneaks to class, but no mesh types in clinical. I went ahead and purchased the Landau shoe too - very comfy! They have plenty of other options too. Lots of students sprung for the Littman, but I just got a normal stethoscope from A&H too. They work just as well for what we need :)
  7. I've had the same problem. Okay in Fundamentals...but this class sucks. Looking forward to responses.
  8. Don't stress! It's going to be a lot to get ready for but it's going to be fun :)
  9. Hooray!!!!! Soooo happy for you! Hmmm let's see...it's a LOT of work! Lots of sign offs in lab, lots of reading and studying. Fundamentals isn't too bad though. Clinicals are fun yet a little stressful too. Seems like everything they do, they baby-step you into it. I'm in Peds and Mental Health the next 8 weeks, looking forward to it :) If you have any questions, feel free to message me as you go and I'll try and help ya out! Good luck!
  10. I just wanted to say good luck! Hope you get in :)
  11. Did your book come with any NCLEX review type CDs? For me, personally, I've had to read the chapters, do the study guide questions, make flashcards for the vocabulary within the chapter, and some flashcards of memorization type things within the chapters, AND do the NCLEX questions that help you with rationale and critical thinking. Now, I'm only on week three and no expert by any means, but it's been working so far for me. You have to memorize some stuff in order to critically think as you go too. Good luck!
  12. This. I'm on week three, and mad that I concerned myself with others negative experiences. It is a LOT to take in...no lie, but I have a class full of classmates all helping each other out, and instructors that want us to pass. Perhaps this will change in the future, but the experience will be what you make of it.
  13. Certainly didn't mean to make anyone feel bad. In my case, I had conflicting information regarding which score they took from my NLN, which could have made a difference in a point. And, you just never know if you've done all you should have to turn everything in properly until you have the actual letter in your hand. And, I also heard there were a LOT of 16 pointers...so you just never know.
  14. I had 16 points. Hope it's just that your mail is slow! I can't see how you wouldnt have gotten in with 15/16 points. One of the girls in my class said she heard they took all 14-16 pointers and a few 13's. Not sure how accurate that is though. Good luck!
  15. Yay!!! Yep I got in too! Very exciting!
