Summer school anyone?

Published

Hey guys!!!!

well for all of us pre nursing students...anyone taking classes during the summer or doing anything exciting?

For me, I am taking philosophy: logic

and

Intro to psychology:yawn:

meh talk about a very BORING 6-week summer...

and the topper? I have class at 8 am! ARGH, not the way I wanted to start summer. And no, there is no other class being offered, so I need this logic class for the BSN program I am applying for this Oct!

After class gets out (around early August) I have like 3 weeks off until regular semester starts...blah, I will probably be working fulltime...

As for extra-curricular activities? Besides working the weekends, I will be either looking for a HC job or volunteering.

What about everyone else!?!?!?

Woah! So many of your guys have such full plates! I wish all of you that have more than three classes good luck and especially those taking A&P.

I'm taking Human Development and then Physics 2.

I've just begun pre-nursing this semester. Although the classes are consuming me, it's the total journey that I'm diligently embracing. Loving it!

:)

I'm taking COMP2 and college algebra. My class start at 6:30am !!! Monday - Thursday for 8 weeks.

I go to work after 9:30am.. work until 6pm....

I want this horribly fast paced semester to end already. The upside is that it will!! Two 4 week classes is sucking the life out of me.

I took my first two classes this summer in over 20 years. Little did I know, the Algebra was an accellerated course and was moving way too fast for me. Unfortunately, I had to withdraw to keep from failing. Although I was actually understanding the material, it was just consuming much of my time that I spent as much as 10 hours per day learning, taking notes, practicing, etc.. this stuff. My professor confessed that the course is pretty much a refresher course for those who already knew algebra, not for someone whose learning it for the first time. "Bummers!" I paid a lot of money for that course...oh well, it was an expensive lesson to learn from. Math is my only remedial, I plan to retake it in fall 2011 for 12 weeks rather than 6 wks

My plan is to start slow by taking 2 classes in the fall semester and hopefully 4 in Spring 2012. Does anyone have any advice for me as to which classes I should knock out the box first? Any other suggestions you may have are well appreciated.

I feel your pain with the Algebra. What are the classes you have to take?

I'm taking Algebra this summer too. It is very time consuming, but I figured it would be great before my first semester of RN school...so far it's not too horrible.

I am taking math 110 colege algebra. It's a 8 week class, I attend M,W 5:45-8:15. Needless to say it is bananas, My teacher said oh and by the way what you all do in two weeks, is what a normal semester do in 4 weeks/month. We have three test which count 30% each, and quizzes are 10%, there is no cum final I am super happy for that. First test I got a 90. I couldn't believe because I was stressed with so much material and the homework is out of this world I can barely keep up, it's not graded but I do it for practice questions. Trying to stay focus because this is my last prereq before I can apply to ADN program in Sept. Trying to get a A in this class I will have a 3.5 Gpa when I apply, I got alot riding on this class. Good luck to all see you on the other side:)

Taking Astronomy with a lab II and Philosophy this summer... both for my other degree (Anthropology). Technically I don't need the classes anymore, since I'm dual majoring and starting pre-nursing this fall, but I'm finishing them up at a GPA booster! (since I already have 115 hours, the more As I get, the more padded my GPA becomes!!! :-))
