Online Stats

I've decided to bite the bullet and take an online statistics course over the summer. I'm dreading this class so much!! I'm terrible at math and my brain shuts down when given word problems.

I already have a tutor set up that can hopefully get me through it. I kept debating on when to take this class and now I'm feeling so stressed out!! So ready to be done with it! Ugh!

I was wondering if anyone has taken an online statistics course and succeeded?

a lot of my prereqs were online including Stats, I got an A, but that was during a regular spring 16 week semester. It will be more intense , with lots of assignments due in the same week, doing it over a short summer semester so be forewarned if you are taking this course with 1 other you should be ok, if you trying to do it with a fulltime course load, it will be difficult to pass. Just don't procrastinate and you will succeed.

Thank you so much!!

I'm in a RN-BSN program and all of our online classes are six weeks. Which means, I'm currently enrolled in a six week online stats course. I think with hard work and dedication it is doable. I'm petrified of math so I totally understand. Don't listen to the naysayers on this thread. Some people just cannot offer support and have to dwell on the negative. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much! :) Good luck to you as well!

I hate math and did mine in a 4 week course in person. I learn better when I just live, eat and sleep something. I ended up with 95%

I am by no means a math genius but I did a lot better in Stats than I thought I would (I made a B). I took this class in a classroom setting. I would highly advise you to re-consider taking stats online in a short summer class. If you are bad at math, then this is a recipe for disaster. My advice: Take stats in the fall and before you register, research your professor on ratemyprofessor.com. I was very lucky to have a GREAT professor able to take us by the hand and really help us understand the confusing world of statistics. It was a small class of about 7 people and it was a great experience. Do what you think is right but please do yourself a favor and at least consider taking this in the fall. Your brain will thank you.
