Missed Deadline

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I missed the deadline to hand in my candidacy application for my school's ADN program. I emailed the director of the program ,and she scheduled an appointment for me tomorrow at 8am. She wrote "Please come in to discuss your options." I'm not really sure what to expect. The deadline was October 20th. What do you guys think? IF it wasn't possible for me to hand in my application after the deadline, do you think she would have just told me upfront instead of making me go to this appointment? Do I have a chance of still handing in my application? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Honestly, as many qualified applicants as there are these days, I think she's being polite. HOWEVER, if she actually takes your application, you thank your lucky stars and pay more attention to deadlines in the future. OK?

Definitely. I'm a dunce for missing the deadline. Not going to happen again. Let's hope she does

She said "...discuss your options". Using the word "options" means you have to make a choice and I don't think submitting your application is one of them otherwise she would have said "Come in and we will discuss submitting your application."

I believe there still is a chance that they will accept your application. How you missed the deadline is beyond me though. I knew the application deadlines for every school I applied to like I know my name. Hopefully you get a pass on this one. Keep us posted on what "your options" ended up being.

How did it go?

I think the best you can do is just wait and see. I hate to be a pessimist but also don't like to give people false hope. Worse case scenario you miss the deadline and you can't apply. What can you do in the meantime? Maybe take some classes you need to apply for a BSN program? Take a CNA course and get you foot in the door somewhere?

I was able to hand in my application! And I found out, that approximately 60 people applied this semester for the Nursing program. There are 70 seats. She told me I have a good chance of getting in because of the numbers. Hopefully no one else had a missed deadline application such as myself. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but hopefully I get in. Wish me luck

I work for a local hospital. I was going to check to see if my union covers a phlebotomy course, and maybe an EKG course. Still getting around to that. But I appreciate the realism, and alternative choices. Thanks again!

Good luck:yes: I'm glad she took it. Just pray about it and be positive:saint:

Whoa. What state are you in? The nursing school I'm starting in January had over 800 applicants and only 60 seats.

My program accepts 104 students in the spring and fall. 107 applied to start spring 2016, admissions said screw it and accepted everybody lol.
