Could you take A&P1 and 2 at the same time in the summer?

Probably not. Isn't A&P I a prerequisite for A&P II?

It is possible to take A&P 1 and A&P 2 in the summer.

However, just because we can do something, it doesn't necessarily make it a good idea. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Not always. This depends on the college where you take the course sequence.

I'm one of the outliers who took A&P 2 before taking A&P 1. Actually, I had enrolled in both courses during the same semester, but dropped A&P 1 due to the workload and returned to complete it the next semester after having passed A&P 2.

In Philadelphia, most schools make AP1 a prerequisite for AP2.

I had to get special dispensation from the dean to take 1 and 2 concurrently, but I did it and maintained my 4.0. I wouldn't do it unless you have a good foundation of knowledge and are a motivated student. It's very easy to get behind; a&p 2 is haaaard.

In any of the schools I've been at, A&P I is a pre-req for A&P II.

Even if I could have, I wouldn't have. There is just too much in both I and II to try and take it all one at once. These are the foundation blocks for your schooling. The information you learn is not information that you can just memorize for a test and then do a brain dump on it and never think of it again. A good grasp of both I & II is necessary to be successful as you progress through school.

You could always check if a college (like community college) has half-semesters and holds both A&P 1 and 2 during that same time period. (Sometimes summer or winter sessions have these) This would give you the ability to take them in the same "semester" but devote the same amount of time to both.

Another option might be an online college such as Portage or NursingABC. It's possible to complete a class in a matter of weeks if you put the time and effort in. But I would definitely make sure your chosen college accepts those kinds of courses.

AND FINALLY (sorry I'm long winded, I know) Speaking to your schools advising is always the way to go! They probably dread seeing me because I always have a list of questions. Lol.

Good luck to you!

I doubt it but check with your school, every school is different. Even if you could, I wouldn't want to. There is a very long list of things I would rather do than take A&P 1 & 2 at the same time. I'm re-taking A&P 1 & micro & it's a lot.

I took A&P I and II at the same time so I could hurry up and start nursing classes. I just needed permission from each instructor. I would look into it! It wouldn't be any more rigorous than nursing classes themselves!

Even if they were not a pre req. I would NEVER do it. One builds on the other in a way that really really makes you want to know the material first AND both are crazy huge classes.
