Fall 2017 Chat

  1. It's that time!

How is everyone? What classes are you taking this fall?

I'm not taking classes this fall - I'm all done. I'm just in the waiting period to hear back about my applications. I was hoping to hear something this week from one of the schools, but word on the street is that it's going to take a "couple more weeks".

I'm trying to distract myself, but it's hard. Just going to the gym, taking my girls fun places and planning our cruise for November.

    Hope everyone is well!

Already feel overwhelmed on school and it's barely the 1st week of fall semester for me lol. I'm currently taking A&P 1, statistics, online arts class, & an intermediate fitness class. Love everything except for the statistics professor. Really, really boring. She goes way too fast thru lecture. It sucks, I can get through it. (:

That's nice that you completed all your classes! And also nice that you have a lil break because nursing school is going to be stressful from what I've heard lol. Hopefully you get in the program you want !

    Thank you!

Statistics was tough for me, but I took it online. I hope you do much better than I did!

A&P can be really overwhelming at first - so much info! But after the first test I had a better idea of what was expected of me, and things started to get easier. Good luck!

Overwhelmed is an understatement. I'm currently taking micro lecture online, wellness concept online, micro lab on campus, and psychology on campus. I'm severely emotional lately which is rare. I'm thinking it's because I transferred to a university and I'm sort of intimidated by the extreme difference of the community college I was attending. And to put the icing on the cake I applied for nursing school and won't hear anything until November. Not to mention my life outside of school as a mother and wife. I'm going to get my head on straight. I'm just having a moment.

    Hi everyone,
I'm taking micro lecture and lab, AP2 lecture and lab and English online. I'm a little bit nervous about Micro as I've heard the lab is somehow difficult.
I'm also pregnant and getting bigger everyday
That's awsome jengirl that you've finished all your prerequisites
    Good luck

Hi, everyone! I am taking Intro Chem with lab, Human Nutrition, Renaissance to Modern Day, as well as Micro-apps. I tutor at my college and volunteer on Fridays, so that has been keeping me busy as well. I am applying to BSN programs this year hopefully I will start nursing school Fall 2018. I've been reading threads on the nursing schools I want to go to since I was in high school and now it's finally my turn to be part of one, it's surreal. Good luck everyone I hope the semester goes well for all of you.

I thought the lab part of Micro was SO fun! It was one of my favorite classes.

It can be really challenging, I know. I'm married with two kids, too (and I homeschool them). Some days I just wanted to throw in the towel! But I got through it all, and you will too!

I am taking advanced physiology/pathophysiology at UND online. It's a grad level course, but so far, I am hanging (ETA: I have a non-nursing BA, so can get an MSN in the same amount of time as a RN to BSN). Trying to knock out MSN courses while I apply to nursing school this fall. I am also taking Micro (last pre-req!) and Sociology (for the CA BON). I also homeschool, but so far, so good. After the summer of hell that I had, this fall should be cake.

This semester I have A&P II, Sociology, and Nutrition. I am in the process of becoming both a tutor and Supplemental Instructor for a class I took previously. Tomorrow will be my second day, but I think I will have a smooth semester after looking over the syllabi and plotting everything out. I am very excited about what I am learning, but I will definitely be working my hardest to finish this last prerequisite.

I just want to wish everyone the best this semester in whatever classes you'll are tackling! Jen, please keep us all updated!

Dont have to take any because I and D-O-N-E, done! . Also waiting to hear back about a application and have another interview coming up soon! Good luck to you Nurse Jen in your job hunt and all of those taking classes!

This semester I'm taking microbiology, English II, statistics, and abnormal psych. Everything is going abnormally easy so far, so I'm remaining skeptical and trying to remain ahead.

I'm also in the waiting game for my nursing school application! Eeeeeek! I completed my interview, which I feel went very well, and am just waiting to write my scheduled written statement. Good luck with your app, Jen! I know that this waiting game certainly sucks!

It's my second semester in my CC's ADN program and I'm done with the first week. I'm taking med surg/OB and pharm II. I thought I'd have a larger bookstore allowance from financial aid so I have to pay some money out of pocket and STILL haven't gotten my books! I feel like I'm slacking but I'm doing all that I can right now in pharm so that I stay ahead in that class. My instructors have already hinted to us that this semester will be easier than last semester so I'm pretty optimistic right now
