A&P I help?

Hi, I am new to this website and I wasn't sure if there was a specific place to post this, but if there is, please let me know.

I am taking A&P I online this semester and it's quite difficult not being able to ask the teacher questions, talk to follow students in real time, etc. I am taking 18 credit hours this Summer to get all of my pre-reqs done by next semester that way I can apply for the Fal 2012 Nursing program at my local college.

I was wondering if someone could help me with this question, or point me in the right direction of a site that can help me. I would be very grateful and appreciative. THANK YOU!

I am supposed to assign each of the organs to one of the following organ systems:

Digestive

Urinary

Cardiovascular

Endocrine

Reproductive

Respiratory

Lymphatic/Immunity

Nervous

The organs are as follows:

Adrenal gland

Aortic arch

Brain

Bronchi

Descending aorta

Diaphragm

Esophagus

Greater omentum

Heart

Inferior vena cava

Kidneys

Large intestine

Liver

Lungs

Mesentery

Pancreas

Rectum

Small intestine

Spinal cord

Thyroid gland

Trachea

Ureters

This should all be in your A&P text book. I suggest using that as your first resource.

You should look into buying an atlas or using your textbook. I'm taking A &P I right now but that class is all about memorization. I don't have all that info in my head right now!!!

Make an atlas and your textbook your best friend.

This is all in your book and online. Shouldn't take > 30 min. to find all of the answers.

Getting the prereqs done so fast that you don't have time to do basic homework assignments will cause you problems later.

18 credit hours in a summer? Thats a lot even for a regular semester. You won't learn if we give you the answers to basic A&P questions. Open your book and start studying!

I agree with everyone else. You gotta study and memorize these =) Check out your book, an atlas, etc...Google "body systems" might point you in the right direction. You just have to learn these. And for goodness sake, be sure to learn the correct spelling. That's a very important thing.

Ex. Ilium vs Ileum. A pt won't be very happy if you remove their ilium instead of their ileum. ;)

and p.s. Many organs technically and functionally belong to MORE THAN ONE system....i.e. the heart...etc.

What A&P book do you have? if you have the Tortorta book it will be right in the front of the book. It has every system and all the organs in each system ... Also, if you have a bookstore like a barnes & noble or something like that in your area you can buy an a&p study guide.. I got the flashcards, they were helpful for systems like the skeletal and muscular, since we weren't allowed to take the models out of the lab.. Good luck!

I'm not trying to be rude at all, but you're definitely biting more than you can chew with the amount hours you've undertaken. The exercise you're requesting help for, is extremely rudimentary. Its apparent that you don't have enough time to spend with each class you're taking.
